i got a couple of tshirts, some cute haviana flip flops (pink, yay!) and some cash to spend on my shopping trip to oz, which i spent on, among other things, 4 pairs of shoes and a tankini... decided that i'm coming home for xmas every year if this is how good i get it!

What to wear with knickerbockers?
OK ladies, in a moment of rashness (fuelled by the euphoria of finally, sort of, just possibly, whacking an urgent project into some kind of shape after weeks of struggle) I bought a pair of black soft slouchyish jersey knickerbockers/pirate trouser things from New Look on the way home, because they looked good on!!! I'm a little startled by this rashness, but they're here now :p
When I tried them on, I was wearing a longish slouchy belted grey jumper, fishnet knee highs (long enough to fit under the trousers) and kitten heel very pointy black patent shoes, which kinda worked, in a weird way. I have one or two other ideas, involving tee shirts/shirts and waistcoats or a red chinese-style top, but apart from that my little mind is a blank. Anyone have any other suggestions?
For footwear, I don't really do shoe boots - they're just not me, really. Apart from that, I'm open to ideas :)

Mini platforms? I wear mine with round toed heels or my metallic platforms. Mine are velvet and fitted though so I'm always wary of looking a little Founteroy-esque!!! :D

Thank you, I'll let him know! :D I quite shamelessley flaunt him around because he's simply the sweetest thing. He does have issues with saliva retention though (he dribbles when he purrs!) which can be problematic (and slightly off putting at times!) :rolleyes: :lovegrin:

Forgive me if I'm being naive, but I was surfing the Topshop website, and I see that they now have some items of clothing available in a size 4.
Despite the newspaper headlines about rising obesity in British women, I was aware that there are of course, also some very petite and skinny girls about. So seeing more size sixes in shops didnt really surprise me. But I have never seen a girl I would judge as a size FOUR. Thats insane!
I just dont see why Topshop are phasing out size 16s and introducing teeny sizes instead? In designer stores it wouldnt surprise me but I thought the high street was supposed to cater to a wider demographic, especially with the struggling sales the retail sector has been dealing with.
I normally shop in Topshop, but I'm a 16 on top and cant squeeze my chest into their size 14 tops. I've had to be disappointed with alot of their styles when I'm told they dont manufacture them in 16s and I think it really sucks, especially if the media is correct about women getting larger - wouldnt it make sense to keep the 16s?
What I really want to know is.. is anyone on here actually a size 4? Am I just being stupid and viewing the world through fat goggles?

I think I could probably fit a Topshop size 4 in tops, I do sometimes find that their size 6 shirts are loose on me (but I do have a tiny ribcage and waist).
Size 4 on the bottom half would be far too small though, I can just squeeze an 8 these days!
It's possible that they're trying to cater to younger audiences. I remember loving clothes in TS when I was 13-14 and nothing ever fitting me.

Fab news for my daughter as it's been a huge hassle getting clothes for her for Christmas this year as she's so tiny for her age (12) but wants to wear the latest trends. I saw some size 4s in TK Maxx yesterday and was surprised but I think it is good as some people are very petite. (I am quite petite but I think a 4 would definitely be too small).
Actually as topshop were supposedly going to make their sizes larger then maybe a size 4 is the 'new' size 6??
However, I don't think that they should stop making larger sizes- that seems really unfair.

I got what I asked for (wellies and slippers - wow what a fashonista I must sound like! ) and more.
I am at work and my husband, my brother and my SIL have all just been to visit with oresents, I have some cd's to listen to, lush smellies to sniff, some lovely saphire earrings, oh and loads more.
