Visa Swap

NO.1. Ask :
Visa Swap
I couldn't see another thread about this, has anyone been in the Visa Swap shop yet in Brompton Road?
If you don't know what it is, its basically a shop where you take in your unwanted items (upper end of the high street and designer) in order to swap them - you get a certain amount of points on your card and on the w/e of 16th/17th June you can exchange these for an item to the same value.
Answer:
Hi Robbys,
I went last week and took a few items in and got truckloads of points. There was some really lovely stuff there, huge range of designers and then some slightly odd more High-St stuff too. I tried to flog the card on eBay as I have a friend coming to stay this weekend (when the "shopping wknd" is being held) and can't make it to the shop to swap my points for goodies aarrrggghhh. Having completely forgotten the rules of HB, given that I last posted here a zillion years ago, the thread I started on here trying to sell it got deleted so now I am left with a card with squillions of points and no chance to use it! Dooooooom.
Anyway it's a great idea and I guess the good thing is that the points end up benefitting TRAID in the end anyway and don't really go to waste, as anything left over gets donated to them. I hope it catches on in other cities.

 Lauren_Grace, great to see you again!
I've passed by the Visa Swap but never went in - it's the old Kookai/Warehouse shop location.
I didn't realise they were being generous with points (or did you take some really lovely stuff in yourself?). I wonder if it's too late to truck some stuff down there....
Answer:
Hello PC - lovely to see you too! Oooh it's like stepping back in time! I hope you're well. Are Tush and Mimi still around?
I took quite a bit of Dior stuff that I got from staff sales, mainly shoes, that didn't fit and/or were utterly hideous (God bless Dior) and a gorgeous Whistles top that made me look pregnant but will beautiful on the right person (i.e. someone whose brrrrrrrrreasts don't take up most of their upper half). To be honest if I can't make it this weekend I don't think I'll be that bothered - it was just strangely therapeutic getting rid of stuff that's been cluttering up my wardrobe for 2 years!
I think they're closed now, though, for taking stuff in - it's just the !swap weekend" tomorrow.
I'll let you know if I make it!

    Shopping in London
Not technically fashion but this relates to the pursuit of fashion happiness so here goes. I am thinking of a shopping trip to London soon and am wondering if anyone can give me their picks of where I should go? I will be on a budget, and I'm especially wondering if there are any vintage/second-hand shops you'd recommend where I could really find treasure, since I'm always soooo disappointed with the selection in vintage shops here in Ireland. Any advice would be brill. Thanks ladies.
    Answer:
I'm not too sure if it's still there but I used to love having a rummage in Oxfam in covent Garden.
I've picked up a few bargains there :)
    Answer:
Beyond Retro is huge. It's in Cheshire Street (I think), off Brick Lane. And there are some other great vintage shops in the area too. Rokit, Absolute Vintage and another one which I can't remember what it's called but it's on my blog cos I went there on Easter Sunday! I think you'll find that London vinate shops are quite pricy compared to Irish ones. (Our charity shops are expensive too!)

    NO.3. ask :
What to wear to a festival?
    Morning ladies!
I stupidly agreed to go to Leeds o2 Wireless festival with a friend on saturday 16th june. TBH standing in a muddy field all day is not my thing but she won the tickets and really wants me to go with her.
What should I wear that will keep me comfortable during a long day at a festival?
    Answer:
comfy skinny jeans, flat boots (wellies?) a funky T shirt or two layered up and a big neck scarf thingymybob that can be used to sit on if it's dry or to wrap round your head and neck if it's not. oh, and stuff a pac-a-mac in your bag:lol:
    Answer:
I wouldn't wear jeans to a festival, too uncomfortable for sitting around in. How about a dress with some leggings underneath (you can take them off if you get too warm and put them back on again later when it cools down) and a cardi over the top? I wouldn't have thought you needed wellies unless the weather is really atrocious. The scarf is a good idea as it can protect you from the sun if it gets too hot.
    Answer:
    Thanks for the suggestions :)

    Bikini top queery
    Hi,
Bit of a long shot but did anyone see a programme on BBC Three a few weeks ago about girls with big boobs? The really pretty red-head did a modelling shoot and was wearing a brown halter neck bikini which looked great and looked like it gave good support! I was wondering if anyone knows what I'm talking about?
If not, what I'm basically after is a halter neck with fairly wide straps and good support as I am fairly big breasted. I'm not too bothered about the colour and would prefer to spend around £20 but will pay more if its worth it. Any help much appreciated!
    Answer:
I saw this, the bikini was very nice...ummm not sure i have seen any like this around though.
    Answer:
