I have bought a laptop!
I am so thrilled I have wanted one for years and now I finally have one. We have always had a desktop PC and it lived in our kitchen which really pissed me off it was a huge monster of a thing in a big silver box Mr Pink insisted on having it to play games  but FINALLY I have won the games have been banished forever and I am the proud owner of a white Sony vaio and its beautiful.....I never want anyone to touch it so beautiful it is..
Mr Pink has a habit of eating at the computer I have told him if he eats over the laptop it can only end in certain death
I love it so! :o

Glamour Woman of the Year - Victoria Beckham
NO.2. ask :
Glamour Woman of the Year - Victoria Beckham
Is it me ?
or does she not deserve this...
Last year's winner was Kylie.. a woman who has reinvented herself in a career which has spanned twenty years..has always been a healthy role model for women everywhere, a fashion icon and business woman and on top of all this has successfully beaten breast cancer and all with a smile on her face..
In comparison Victoria Beckham (and I'm not a Beckham basher at all) but all she's done in essence is married well..!! I too could be swathed in designer clothes, live in a massive house and jet set about starting businesses if I had the money to do it. I just don't think she's really 'achieved' anything.
what do you think??
Answer:
Was kind of surprised to see this too but our surprise is probably because she gets so much bad press. They said her range of sunglasses sold out in minutes so that must make her a good businesswoman and her jeans sell well too. She must be delighted.
Answer:
She hasn't really done anything this year, has she? I used to be quite a fan of Victoria Beckham and always admired her style and the fact that she seemed to be very family orientated - but I've gone right off her this year. She's got even skinnier, blonder and more orange than ever before, and has seemed to spend virtually no time with her family...all she seems bothered about now is making it big in the US and having the 'right' A-list friends. Obviously you can't believe everything you read (although I'll admit I am guilty of that sometimes :o  ), and I'm sure she's still a good mother behind the scenes, but she certainly hasn't achieved anything great lately to deserve that title.
I'd have voted for Katie Price (Jordan) myself - say what you like about her, but I really admire her. I certainly couldn't juggle a disabled child (who has had 2 bad accidents this year), another very young child, a husband with meningitis, and a successful career...all while being 8 months pregnant :faint: Or maybe someone who's campaigned for charity or something. I think the 'woman of the year' should have at least done *something* to achieve that title.
It's like 'celeb mum of the year' and 'glasses-wearer of the year' and all those other 'of the year' titles though...quite often the person hasn't actually done anything to deserve it (I remember looking at the 'glasses-wearer of the year' one year, and thinking I'd never actually seen them in a pair of glasses before that!) I think the organisers just pick someone who needs some publicity and is quite happy to pose with the trophy or do an interview with them or whatever
Answer:
I'd have voted for Katie Price too. I agree with everything you've said about her.

Well, maybe they gave it her because she tries so hard all the time?
Anyone ever spilt milk on a laptop?!?!
NO.3. ask :
Anyone ever spilt milk on a laptop?!?!
Shit.
My mother the genius decided it was a good idea to pass me a veeeery full glass of milk (by full I mean it was brimming over) while I was sitting at the family laptop  Needless to say about a quarter of it splashed all over the keyboard.
Nobody else noticed, I mopped it up inconspicuously as best I could (i.e. with my pyjama Tshirt!) and all was good for the next 15 mins or so...then suddenly if I pressed one letter, about 3 would come up, none of which were the one I'd pressed
Anyhoo, I'm now using the laptop with the keyboard from my PC plugged into it...but I was just wondering if the effects will disappear once the milk dries, or have I ruined our laptop forever?! The rest of my family will crucify me if I have :cmdunno:
Answer:
i had a diet coke incident on the plane in turbulence once but never anything as sticky as milk. you should really switch it off until it's had a chance to dry out or you could end up shorting something. mine was dead for a bit but after a couple of days it came back to life with only the optical drive needing replacing. if you can take it apart yourself you can clean the keyboard bits but unless you know what you're doing don't go further than that, take it in somewhere to be cleaned instead.
Answer:
Oh crap.
I had a coke incidence once as well but no one found out it was me, they all blamed it on my brother MU HA HA HA
I've been told you should use a hair dryer if you spill water because it dries it up quicker. But I'm not sure about milk
Btw our laptop's keyboard never came back to life, replacing the keyboard cost nearly as much as replacing the laptop
Answer:
i've poured wine into my mobile :o It went a bit mad untill i switched it off shoved it to the bottom of my bag and left it for a day or so, Its all better now. (this was about two years ago and i'm still using it)
Answer:
I spilt baileys onto my laptop very drunkenly one night. Well technically it was ex Mr Fluffs fault
I wiped it up right away and then swtiched it off and let it dry overnight. The keys were sticky for a while but with a few cleans and lots of use its back to normal now. It stank of baileys for a while too!!
If i was you i'd turn it off, let it dry out then clean it and see if it works then.
O/T strange plea!
NO.4. ask :
O/T strange plea!
I'm trying to get hold of a copy of the Times Magazine from Saturday 17th March to find out where I can get an Easter present for mum.
On that Sat they had a feature on five types of sweets and chocs and there was a little mini pink suitcase with 3 or 4 types of sweeties in and the case was really cute and retro. It was about £20 and was stocked in Selfridges but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the company that made them :boohoo: I've tried searching the times online, and other features from the mag appear but not that one.
Can anyone help me?
Answer:
If no one can help you beforehand I'll check when I get home tonight to see if my parent's copy is still kicking around, but they normally recycle fairly frequently I'm afraid.
I know for a fact I have mine still but it's in Manchester and I won't be back there for almost three weeks.
Answer:
Let me see if I've recycled mine or not....
Answer:
I was reading that the other night pip at my dads will see if he still has it :)

I need a suit!
I've just got a job (hopefully it's in the bag anyway) so hurrah. But anyway I need to wear either a black or navy (black for me I think) trouser suit but I don't want to spend a bomb but want to look smart. Where can I get one from? Maybe black pinstriped or something.

I hate next suits with a vengence! I bought two last year for work, and they were fine for about 3 weeks, and then just looked worn, cheap and tatty :(
