What's fashionable for 11 year olds?
Hi
Sorry I know this probably isn't of much interest to most of you, but its my niece's 11th birthday in a few weeks and I'd like to buy her an outfit. She is starting high school in Sept and starting to get more of an interest in fashion. Not really got much of an idea what 11 year olds think is cool though.
Hope someone can give me a few ideas.
Thanks

Hi  i went shopping with my 12 year old niece this weekend and i'd advise you to get her vouchers! my niece was so fussy!! we ended up getting her leggings a couple of dresses and some ballet pumps. she knew exactly what she liked but still wanted my approval iykwim. I think it'd be really nice if maybe you took her shopping so that she could choose or if you can't go with her get her vouchers.

I always think 11 year olds nowadays dress like mini adults anyway! Cropped jeans and vests, dresses with leggings underneath, ballet-pump style shoes - that's what they all wear round here anyway! Basically mini versions of what we wear, but toned down a bit because of their age. Maybe have a flick through one of the teeny magazines in the newsagents (I used to like Mizz magazine when I was about that age) and see if they have any fashion pages in? Or maybe have a look at (Tammy Girl was *the* place to shop when I was younger - I think most of the stores have shut down now, but they still sell in BHS and I know they're aimed at the 9-13 sort of age group) I'm sure New Look do a younger range too?
If you can't think of an outfit as such, maybe buy her some accessories - Claire's Accessories is good for teens and pre-teens. Vouchers are a good idea too, if you're not 100% sure of what she'd like?
Answer:
My boyfriend's 11 year-old loves the Miss Evie range in Peacocks. I'd second the kind of style suggestions others have mentioned that are around at the moment, lots of leggings under mini-skirts, cropped jackets, ballet pumps (in bright colours) and cute patterned dresses.
Answer:
Agree with all the above, they are getting into fashion at a much younger age-I found a big bunch of them in Primark. Hennes (bigger branches) do a really nice Young HM range, -leggings, skull and crossbones Tee's ...I have a few of them. Ballet pumps, hoodies, mini skirts, converse too. I have an 13 yr old cousin..who frequently raids my closet....

Signing books in my local Debenhams. I really wanted to wait and meet him but I was on my lunch break and didn't have time. He was chatting to everyone and seemed really lovely! :D
Answer:
Is that the guy from How To Look Good Naked? I saw him twice in two days last time I was in London.
Answer:
I've never watched the show but I *think* I saw him in my local sainsburys in London a couple of weeks ago.
Answer:
Yes that's him!
Answer:
Ohh I love Gok! I don't always agree with the outfits he puts the women in on his show (although the curly-haired lass last night looked gorgeous!) BUT I love how he's so lovely to the women and really boosts their confidence. I'd love to go shopping with him!

If anyone is still lusting after the violet or the khaki versions, they're on sale at shopbop and may have just slipped into my cart ;)
Answer:
I neeeeeeeed these :faint:
How much is shipping to UK / Ireland? ;)
Answer:
Mine was just shy of $52, but I think it goes on weight. Don't forget to factor in the customs as well :cmdunno:
Answer:
I thought I was pulling a fast one by getting 'my' Faridah shipped to my aunt in Las Vegas and getting her to post it on to me but there is still no sign of it here. :boohoo:
Answer:
Damn that sucks - that bag would be perfect for summer. Mr BZ's mate in LA usually forwards all my stuff on to me, although I suspect that he may be growing tired of his role as my shoe posting bitch which is why I'm having these shipped direct
Soldier Theme

Soldier Theme
Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post but I'm hoping some of you can help me out.
I've just found out the theme for my mate's 21st on Saturday night is soldiers/army and I don't think I own anything which is suitable. As camo and stuff isn't really as in now (that I know of!) I don't know where to start looking.
I'm hopefully off to Primark in a tic to look for a plain khaki t-shirt but can anyone think of anything they've seen recently which might be suitable? Preferably not too expensive but all suggestions are welcome!
xx
Answer:
How about the Lara Croft look? You could grab a khaki vest and some shorts and aviators, although I'm not sure what to suggest re:footwear unless you have some black boots that would do.
Answer:
Army surplus shops would be good - you can always customise stuff to fit properly. It might be quite hard to find khaki stuff on the high street at the moment, as it's not really an 'in' colour at the min, but if you managed to find a khaki t-shirt you could mix it up with brown too, e.g.
(not sure what colour it is IRL but looks khaki on my screen) with these shorts -
and then add a camouflage belt or something - maybe look in Claire's Accessories?
Ann Summers do an 'army girl' dress too, if you're feeling really brave - you could always wear a plain khaki vest top and/or brown leggings underneath it if you think it's too revealing. It's £32 so fairly expensive, but maybe a last resort if you can't think of anything else?

If you can't find a khaki top in primark then try HM they do loads of basic tops in every colour.
Don't forget face paint! Try poundland or somewhere similar for dressingup bits.
Have a great time :D
Answer:
Some of my friends went army-style to my party. Primark had loads of khaki/sand coloured tops, and there are some cheap camouflage flats/wedges too, and belts. A pair of combats or dark coloured shorts works well as the bottom half. You could try hiking boots or general black boots. Facepaint is a good idea. Or you could tie a kind of bandana round your head too.
Or you could always do a different soldier uniform - navy blue suit, crisp white shirt, red ribbon sash, few home-made medals and some black shiny boots underneath?
Or if you have a playsuit in a dark colour that could also work?
My friends tended to borrow camo CCF jackets off the guys, or I guess you might be able to borrow one off someone really in the army? Lol.
Have a great time :D
