Where to look for Occassion dresses
It's only a month until OH brothers wedding and I still havent got my dress.
I'm planning on going shopping next weekend, or the one after.
I currently have in plan to go straight to 'Coast' in House of Fraiser as I have been eyeing up a dress online.
Where else can I look?
I have Warehouse down, but none of the dresses online appeal so looks like a non-hoper, same applies with Debenhams.
I'll be going to the Shires in Leiciester.
Im so worried now I wont find anything :o

NO.3. ask :
are slips coming back??
are slips supposed to be coming back? I thougt they were suposed to be old fashioned but i'm seeing more people who are 'letting it all hang out'
Today I sat opposite a young indian girl in the tube, smart navy suit, reading the FT and with half an inch of lace showing udner her skirt. prob she didnt realise it was showing but she looked just sooooo pretty and feminine.....dont think I'd dare and i'm a convinced skirt-girl!
Answer:
I wear them with all slightly see through skirts and dresses and those that tend to ride up when I walk, they're very useful and pretty!

I didn't know they really went away .. though I guess better skirts - in particular tailored ones - should be lined anyway. I keep meaning to make myself one, I have the fabric etc, just never get round to it, as I haven't seen a nice one in aaaaages (they're often found in unattractive nylon fabrics, judder! )
Answer:
I'm currently on the look-out for a bright coloured slip myself after seeing pictures of a few women wearing them, hanging below their dresses. In their cases it was another item for layering and the effect was very pretty or livened up a neutral colour.
Other than under sheer dresses skirts though, I don't see that there is much need these days to wear a slip hidden under clothes in the old-fashion way.
Answer:
In my day they were often called petticoats:wasfield: I don't know if they are coming in because I live in Spain and the thought of wearing a slip makes me feel a bit sticky at the moment as it's rather hot.
Advice needed - party TONIGHT!

Advice needed - party TONIGHT!
1 Attachment(s) I've been so busy this week I totally forgot about buying an outfit for a party tonight. So, how about the outfit below but with skinny jeans and knee-high boots?
Answer:
What kind of party is it? The outift seems a bit casual for my definition of party you see
The heels are cute though and you could add some jewellery to dress it up I suppose :D
Answer:
It's an engagement party at a golf club. Maybe I should think of another top then?
Answer:
You might want to check but some golf clubs don't allow jeans. I think I'd go a little bit smarter, tbh.
Answer:
It's only the city council one. I'm really stuck with what to wear!
Has anyone ordered from ADASA .com?
NO.5. ask :
Has anyone ordered from ADASA .com?
Has anyone ordered from ADASA .com? I was wondering how much you had to pay in duties and tax when your items arrived?
Answer:
I haven't, but as a rough guide you'll be liable for duty, which is a bit random, VAT (17.5%) and handling/admin charges. On a recent package worth $175 shipped with USPS, I was charged about £42 by Parcel Force.
Adasa ships UPS/USPS, so unless they mark the parcel as a gift or mark the value down, I would say you're likely to get stung. If you haven't ordered with them before, try the code ADASAFIRST, which is supposed to give you 20% off as a first-time customer :)
Answer:
ooh cool thanks!!
eek sounds like a lot I'll have to decide if I'm sure they're the jeans for me then :/
When do I pay these taxes and duties? when the postman knocks on my door?
Answer:
It depends - because most companies use a courier service, you usually get a letter saying they won't deliver the parcel this end until you pay the charge. I generally I ring up with my card details and sort it out over the phone.
Answer:
from what i remember adasa use ups, and they call you before they'll deliver your parcel. ups charge the highest duties out of anyone i think
