Shoes to match a red dress...
Hi I've bought a red dress to wear to a foreign wedding but as my camera is broken I can't post a pic.:cmdunno:

It's got very thin straps and is slightly ruffled at the top and has a huge red bow on the top of one side. It is all ruched and gathered at the sides - its far nicer IRL. It's kinda DGish, very sexy but not overtly so either!

Anyway I'm looking for some inspiration for some shoes to set it off. I was thinking of some black wedges, but I also had some leopard print in mind. Has anyone seen anything that may fit the bill? Or does anyone have any better ideas?

    Thanks :)
    Answer:
Personally, I never wear red and black together (except on rare occasions with another colour in the mix e.g. white or denim) as it always looks cheap on me but I think that's mainly down to my pale colouring. So, I would probably go for the leopard print if it's appropriate for the wedding.
I also love pairing bright red with mid-blue, some greys and cream, but not sure if these colours would work in shoes...
    Answer:
I'd probably go with something metallic, tbh. I think that from your description it might look a bit tarty with leopard print and black shoes can look a bit blah unless you manage to tie them in properly like Jembop said :cmdunno:
    Answer:
I'd go for silver or for some random reason, hot pink is calling me, but they'd have to be the right kind of shape. Or even turquoise, but red and turqouise can sometimes make your eyes hurt. :cmdunno:
I think I'd stay away from leopard print or black with red.
    Answer:
I would go for a nude heel, like these:

    Cardiff shopping - going tomorrow!
Hello, I'm off to Cardiff tomorrow and wondered if any Cardiffians (?) could suggest good shopping areas/ good branches of high street shops and any boutiques worth checking out? The Primark where I live is pretty lame and there's no Zara or Mango to speak of so those are on my hit list. I've also heard the House of Fraser is quite good - any opinions?
    Thanks x
    Answer:
Yeah there are most of the big high street names all along the main pedestrian bit with Zara, Gap etc. The Capitol centre at one end has nice shops too like Karen Millen and Mac. HM is in there too.
Also check out the arcades for the smaller privately owned shops.
If you have time I recommend Cowbridge for shopping too. Some really nice boutique-y places inc a fab undies shop and lovely stops for coffee or cocktails :)
    Have fun!
    Answer:
Their House of Fraser is called Howells, it's the same though - they sell Mulberry
Their Primark is good, better than the one in Bristol anyway. They also have a new TK Maxx, it's along the same road from Howells opposite where loads of building work is going on. I haven't actually been to it though as it wasn't open last time I went (earlier in the month).

The Weekend - is there really no thread yet???
I def can't see one, but last few weeks it has been up by wednesday. Have I just missed it??
    x
    Answer:
    I can't see one chick.
    Answer:
    Ah, well, in that case...
    It's nearly the weekend!!! I personally can't WAIT for a lie-in.
Anyway, tonight am off to this Mad Hatter's Party at a club in the west end, dressed as a mad hatter fairy in neon pink tutu, opaques and grey elevators, white superfine vest, pink multistrand beads, top hat with pink netting around and wand! Should be fun as it's all my uni mates and the ibiza lot, so should think there will be lots of drinking and dancing. Just hope I get home with outfit intact, as I love the hat and don't want to lose it.
Tomorrow I am going to see the Kaiser Chiefs and the Cribs in a box at the royal albert hall in aid of teenage cancer trust. Suspect I will avail myself of the free booze in the box then head down to the front for a dance. My mate is organising, so there is an after party at boujis too, but depends how tired I am from thurs. Will wear yellow skinny jeans, grey patent elevators, charcoal backless tee with white print and perspex and silver ear-rings with grey cardy for daytime at work.
Sat, my sis, best mate and I are off on a pilgrimage to romford primark (grade A :whoop: ), then in the evening I am going to a friend's birthday at a dirty 60's rock night in the west end. Going to have to drag out my satin skinny trousers, old ripped up band tee with pink american apparel bandeau underneath, wine coloured suede spike heel stilettos with glitter lightening flash down the sides, big messy hair and loads of black eyeliner.
Sunday, am recovering, then meeting the girls and the gays for boombox. Am planning on wearing electric blue hooded minidress with sun visor I am going to customise with lots of silver sequins, maybe silver leggings, petrol blue VW elevator platforms, sequinned fingerless gloves IF I can find them, fake blue and green peacock lashes and silver glitter eyeshadow.
Monday I am going to have the morning off and die :faint:
So, what are you all up to, and more importantly, what are you wearing?
    xx
    Answer:
Sounds like your going to have a wicked weekend Lizzie! Love the sound of your madhatters costume.
My weekend started last night. I went out for a curry and drinks with Mr N and his work mate and girl mate. Had a really good night and got a wee bit tiddled. Wore my big wedges and felt like a giant :D
    Tonight:
Im going out for another meal, this time for 3 of my friends birthdays. haven't seen them for ages so should be nice. I am going to wear quite a toned down outfit as its a nice restaurant, so will probably wear my blackslouchy pirate boots, black or grey opaques, my warehouse cotton dress with the elbow flare sleeves and cream and green/grey pattern, with a belt around the waist and a black top underneath to hide my modesty.
    Friday:
it is Mr N's sisters 30th birthday. Her husband is in the army in Iraq at the moment so she's feeling down, so we are going to go iceskating, and then go back to Mr N's mum and dads for family in the evning, and so Mr N can see her after he has finished work.
    Saturday:
Going out on the raz for the 3 friends birthday. We were going to do an 80's theme, but some dull person vetoed it, I am gutted. SO I guess I might wear my magenta baby doll Topshop dress with black tights, pirate boots, silver bangles and long necklaces and a black waist belt.
    Sunday:
I am going to see razorlight :D So will probably wear my huge wedges as they are quite cmfy, but more importantly I need the height. Last time I went to a gig I couldn't see a thing, and the tallest men in the world stood infront of me! Will probably wear indigo skinnies, and something slouchy ontop for that.
    Answer:
I am always the same at gigs nursie!!!
Re Sat, can't you veto the veto of the dull person and reinstate the 80's theme? Although I do like the sound of the alternative outfit...
