As you all probably know (and are bored of hearing) i really want the UO fitted skull tee that's sold out everywhere, so was delighted to see one on ebay and have been waiting all week for it to finish.
Nip upstairs to put the laptop on and watch ER but get completely sidetracked and finish tacking a top i'm adjusting.
And yes you've guessed it, missed the bloody auction end!!!!!:boohoo: :mad:

Hi all!
Moving into a flat next month and I desperately need to find a way of displaying my shoes! At the mo I keep them all in their boxes in my wardrobe - but I dont have much space in my new place so I need to find another way...! I was thinking of some shoe racks but Im not sure - I have around 30 pairs of shoes so I dont want it to get too expensive!

I'm always drawn back to flared jeans, no matter what the current trend is. I don't necessarily buy them, but I make a beeline for them in shops, try them on and then decide against them as I remember what decade it is :D

Still heard nothing, is it weird that they have no signs up but there was an apparent part time job, so im dont really know what to think.
If anyone has worked at TopShop/retail does age matter when it comes to an employer employing you? Obviously im old enough to work but i wasnt sure if it did change things compared to people who have more experience in life...eg mid twenties.

I've never gone for a job at TopShop, but I've seen a lot of 16 year olds working there (and overheard them mentioning their age so they don't just look young). I worked in a shop at 16, a lot of people do.
I don't know how long you've been waiting, but from what I remember years back, some companies would take a while to get back to you. I got a job at Ikea 3 months after handing in my application form.
I'd go smart but a bit trendy to the interview. Some well fitting trousers, heels and a fashionable but work appropriate top. Nothing revealing, although sometimes the shop girls wear very trendy outfits, I don't think they're interview appropriate.

The whole time I worked at topshop (about 15 months) they never advertised for staff, but they were pretty much always looking, even just to have reserve staff for when that season's flush of saturday girls suddenly ran dry. I was 17 when I started, by the way, but there were girls there that were younger than me.
Wear a current trend and have a wander around the store to look at what they're selling just now and familiarise yourself with them - different sections of topshop are divided into current trends and named after them, and they'll ask you about what you think is fashionable just now and what you like. Being up to date with styles and coming across as having an active interest in fashion will go a long way to have them overlook lack of experience. It doesn't take much to beep a hundred things through a till every day or stand at the fitting room, but they like to interview like you were trying to get a traineeship at Gucci anyway :D
My interview was a mere formality as they really needed staff and I really wanted to work there, but I know after that they did group interviews with candidates as well when there was a few of them. The good news is it's summer sale time which requires more cover, and loads of staff will be on holiday as well so they may want you as much as you want to work there (fingers crossed!).
