Any moving day tips?

I am moving into my first flat next friday! eeekkk so excited! Has anyone got any good tips on our first weekend in our new flat?
Was thinking the first day clean the flat from head to toe, do some food shopping and unpack some essentials(no idea what they will be!)
Any tips?

Hello. Glad to hear you are finally moving.
Definitely a good idea to give everything a thorough clean.
The essentials of have to hand for me would be:
Kettle
Mugs
Toaster
Cleaning products
Loo roll
Soap
Towel
Tea Cloths
Pack everything methodically and label the boxes so you know what is where etc.
It might also be a good idea to pack a suitcase of complete outfits for the following few days in case you don't have time to unpack all of your clothes.

put the kettle and some snacks+tea bags+mugs in a separate box which is on top of everything clearly labeled and unloaded first.
Then you can sit on the floor with a cup of tea and a biscuit before you have to start moving the big stuff! :D

i have wrote your list down on my list, hopefully the more organised i am the more easier it will be! I just hope nothing else goes wrong, we have had such dramas with all this exchanging lark!
alybea, almost forgot in order to make a tea im guna need some tea bags!!! ekk! how could i have forgotten that?! Im at my mums house in the morning so will pack a packed lunch ... and of course some champagne!!
Also going to bring my cd player and music!
Stupid question but... will the water be running and that? I know the electricy will be on, is it the same with the water? And is getting a new phone and becoming say a bt customer, quite easy?

The water will be on and running, don't worry.
Everything everyone else has already mentioned. I also found it handy to update my address book the week before with numbers of local takeaways, taxi companies etc.

Just one more thing, did your tights have toes, or rather what sort of toes? i was thinking of wearing some black peeptoes that i have but worry the dress is too short to go bare legged, but if i wear tights then the peeping bit will look a bit odd won't it? :(

I seem to recall that in one of their books, Trinny and Susannah describe fishnets showing in peeptoes as 'sexy and dead cool', or words to that effect. Depends if you trust TS's opinions of course!
Personally I think tights and peeptoes look ok as long as there's not too much toe peeping out, if that makes sense?

I like tights and peeptoes, as long as it's done with some conviction! Fishnets and peeptoes can work, although my preferred option is to go with contrasting or clashing colours.
As long as you avoid nude tights, you should be fine!

Right so £53 was taken from my account on 19th may, and I still haven't received it, I rang them, must have been about a month ago and they said they will be dispatched as soon as they come in stock.
I found the number via the website, but now I can't find the website (nicola t's boutique one). I just want to cancel the order now and get my money back b/cos I've waited long enough and need to buy pots/pans etc for uni!

Rang them in the end and no answer, so sent a snotty email and the hoody arrived today! No reply to email though!
I'm really glad I didn't cancel the order because the hoody is sooo nice and comfy/warm, perfect for slouching around in, and the shade of pink is really nice :)

I read about this over on another forum and it has been a bit of a laugh. I'm surprised I've haven't seen it mentioned here in the fashiony bits. I did a search just in case, but found nothing.
Basically it is meant to be a virtual fashion game and the idea is to become the most famous and beautiful Bimbo in the World :lol: It is a bit of fun and is quite addictive. You can add people to your Friends list and have challenges.
It has been really handy when I have been bored at work with nothing to do :o
