    wrap to go with dress?
Hi fashion ladies  Hope you dont mind me posting in here, I dont do it very often but I'm needing a bit of help! I'm going to a wedding on Friday and looking for a wrap-type thing :cmdunno: to wear over my shoulders if it's a bit chilly. Preferably in quite a bright colour as my dress is quite plain (black and white in a "suitable for a wedding" way!).
Any advice would be great. Thanks! :D
    Answer:
I think Accessorize always have something like this, as do Monsoon and possibly Tie Rack.
    Answer:
I had wondered about accessorize, thanks. I'm not gonna be able to get to the shops until Thursday after work so it's good to know where to look since I'll be doing it last minute as usual!
    Answer:
There are millions on ebay in all different colours, most you can buy using buy it now for around or less than a fiver, if you buy today you should get it by the weekend.
Accessorize/monsoon ones are a bit more expensive. about £18 - look at the monsoon website for colours, I rememeber looking the other day and they were quite dull-ish colours, but they don't always show everything on the website anyway so you could ring the store beforehand if you wanted to know what they have and if they could hold it for you just in case.

    NO.3. ask :
    Putting outfits together
    Morning all!
Title says it all really, how do you decide what to wear with what (that doesn't sound right... but you know what I mean ;))
Do you have outfits that you know work together and tend to stick with said outfits? Or do you like to mix and match all the time? Or an in between?
I'm asking because I see bits and pieces I like when I'm out and about, but think to myself 'well what would it go with? How would I wear it?' and then end up leaving it and regretting it! I always feel like if I'm buying something new, I need to buy new things to wear with it, despite the fact that I have loads of bags, jewellery and shoes that I could wear.
I'm getting better at not being too matchy matchy, (which is cool for some people but not really me), as I like to look like I'm put together, and have thought about my outfit without wearing just two colours and jeans IYSWIM? But I get stuck in a rut and never know what colours I can get away with mixing :cmdunno:
So how do you put your outfits together? I'm so jealous of all your style diaries, so I know you can help me! :)

    Answer:
I think the answer is, don't be afraid of experiment and sometimes get it wrong! I'm probably a bit inbetween - have lots of outfits that I know work, but keep trying to come up with new ones too.
As far as mixing colours go, I think it's almost more important to get the tones of the colours to work, rather than the colours themselves; so generally I tend to mix jewel colours with jewel colours (scarlet, midnight blue, emerald, purple), zesty brights and brights and so on. With obvious and frequent exceptions (and mixing families of "tones" works better with some than others!), but it's a good starting point and gives you room to experiment with some unusual colour combos. For example, warm blush pink, muted rusty orange, soft olivey khaki and smoky lavender all work together, but are not necessarily obvious choices.
Also, get to know your neutrals and which colours work best with them; not all neutrals are really created equal. I think they vary from person to person quite a bit, but mine would be things like dusky blush pink, charcoal grey, cream, beige and brown among others.
My favourite tip is to pile stuff on your bed, give it a good stir, and see what drops out!

Thanks for that GK, really helpful actually, didn't really occur to me to think of colours in terms of groups! Will also help me see what gaps I have in terms of colour groups too.
I'm just sick of wearing jeans, top and ballet pumps or pointy flats, seems like it's all I ever wear at the min :o I think it's because I'm not at uni, I tend to think about what I'm wearing a lot more then for some strange reason!
I'm thinking about starting a style diary, just for myself really to see how outfits look and how I can mix and match pieces and change colours etc. Need to invest in a decent full length mirror 1st tho
