Is a white dress still a no-no for a wedding guest?
1 Attachment(s) Hi all,
Just wondering if you could help...
I've just bought a dress like this and really wanted to wear it to an upcoming wedding but not sure if it's still rude to do so?
I'd wear it with lashings of black and red or pink but not sure if it's still too 'bridal'. I don't know the bride (just the groom) but really don't want to offend her in any way.
I either need to start shopping for accessories or buy a new dress but can't work out what to do - it's been driving me nuts!
Thanks for your help in advance :)

Answer:
Sorry but would definatly say it was still a big no-no

Answer:
I don't think your pictures are working.
It really depends on what the dress looks like, though. I wouldn't rule it out completely as an option, especially if you wear bright accesories.
Answer:
sorry all - just uploaded the pic!

That dress isn't too bridal looking but all the same I probably wouldn't go down that route. If it was black with a white trim that would be perfect.
Enjoy the wedding
Cottages in UK

Cottages in UK
I was thinking about a short weekend break in Aug somewhere in the UK. I unique quentissentially British/Welsh/Scottish type of cottage. We will be travelling there by train, so need to have good transport links back to London.
Can someone suggest some places and cottages please? I have already posted this is in Travel but you ladies here fab, so please help:lol:
Answer:
Have you tried Welcome? I think its called Welcome Breaks? they do cottages galore my Mum and Dad used to use them when we were kids and we always stayed in gorgeous little places.. I'd recommend the North Yorkshire coast there's tons to do and you can get the train right there.
Answer:
We went on holiday to Cornwall last year and rented a cottage through this site . We stayed just outside of St Ives and it was wonderful and we went there by train too - a long journey, but direct from London.
They have cottages in plenty of other locations too including the Cotswolds and Devon.
Some places though might only do 1 week rentals during the peak season, so you might not have much choice if you only want to go for a weekend.
Answer:
Anymore sort of in the Peak or Lake District areas or historic places like Ludlow?

I did give a small update on the WHYB thread when I had it done but since you ask.......
It didn't hurt much, just a slight stinging when each injection went in but completely bearable even for an utter wimp like me. I had four injections between my eyes where I had a definite crease and three at the sides of the eyes to help with the wrinkles there. I had the ones between the eyes not only to reduce the crease but also to stop myself scowling so much - I even frowned in my sleep!
It took about 10 days to fully take effect - I was convinced I was going to be the one person in the world that it wouldn't work on  but then I woke up one morning and I couldn't frown :great: and my wrinkles around my eyes looked much smoother.
I'm really pleased with it and I'll definitely keep on having it done. Even in my current exhausted state it makes me look fresher, which is no mean feat
Answer:
Nice one! :great:
Does it freak you out when you try to frown and you can't?
Answer:
No I like it! I can kind of feel a block across the top of my eyes but I love the fact that I'm not frowning all the time :great:
Oh, btw could you PM the details of where you got your Birkin copy from please?
I need your opinions...hair straighteners..

Hello all  ,
I'll post this in hair too, but I "know" you all better soo I thought I'd start here..basically I want to buy new hair straighteners but don't know which are seen as being the best (is it still ghd?) and where I can buy them online for the least amount of moooola.
Thank you muchly,
 xxx
Answer:
Hello
I swear by my GHDs. I have the wide plate ones, and they are the only thing that works on my wayward hair. The others may seem cheaper but you do get what you pay for, I believe.
Cost wise, I've not bought any for a bit but if you google GHD you should find lots of sites to give you comparisons.

Answer:
G.H.D
don't buy any others, there is nothing better.
you can buy them on beautysleuth.co.uk
Answer:
Another vote for GHD's here :D
Answer:
Always running against the crowd ... I've been using my Babyliss 230 straighteners for 8 months and I love them to bits. I have naturally curly hair and these sail through them. I have used GHD's in the past but for me the Babyliss ones are just as good and more than half the price!
What do you think of this dress - please

Do you think it makes me look fatter as I am a size 10 but I think it may make me look bigger as its not fitted. Be honest I don't mind.
Answer:
The picture isn't that great tbh, but I can't see why you would think it makes you look bigger. Do you feel uncomfortable wearing it?
