Firetrap cami - keep or return?

NO.1. Ask :
Firetrap cami - keep or return?
Hmm, I like it but hubby said he wasn't sure about it but couldn't put his finger on what it was about it that he didn't like... men
Mine is like a buttermilk colour though, not cream as shown in this pic - here's a link from the web and also a pic of me in it. Am imagining it with shorts, flip flops and beads - oh, and a tan (real or fake)... ah, summer days, bring 'em on!
Thanks for any opinions ladies, gratefully received as always! :)
Answer:
I dont like the middle panelling - the material is too thin for it.
Answer:
Ta chocolatejo - anyone else?
Answer:
Not diggin it, sorry hun!
Answer:
I don't like it sorry :cmdunno:

It's the sheer panel and the colour puting me off.

It probably wasnt cheap either so I'd return it and get something nicer :)

    O/T York hotel recommendations?
I presume OT threads are allowed now:confused:
Anyhoo, does anyone know of any nice hotels in York? Am going down there with the lovely Mr Dots for a long weekend and would like to stay in a lovely hotel close to everything (we're on the train so has to be easy to get to) and a bit special.
    Any other tips are appreciated:)
    Answer:
When I went I stayed in a hostel type place so not what you're looking for but try looking for one near maddison square garden as that's where I stayed and it was really close to macys, central park, times square, empire state building etc. The transport system in NYC is easy and quick so don't worry if you do stay a bit further out.
I bought some nice and very cheap clothes from and there's a big shop near ground zero that sells discounted designer stuff.
    Have fun!
    Answer:
The Royal York is right next to the station. It's quite big but full of character.

I'm off to New York in September so your advice is useful anyway:D
I'll check out those hotels tonight, thank you! I prefer a boutique style of hotel something quite romantic if possible. Anywhere I can take the feller for a nice meal?
(Gah! Everything is lovely with me today, everything I say is lovely, I must stop saying it!)

  • Ugg Boots

    NO.3. ask :
    Ugg Boots
Was wondering if anyone has used this site to order ugg boots from
If anyone has what was your experience like? Did you get charged customs etc?
    Thanks!
    Answer:
I've not used that site, but I have ordered from another australian company before and did not have to pay any duty on my ugg boots. I got mine from australian gear.
I have tall ugg boots and cost less than £50 including delivery, but although i haven't looked recently am sure their prices have gone up since I bought them.
That site looks ok though, i'd bookmark it and use it for future reference.
    Answer:
I have never bought Uggs but funny enough was about to post thread about them - I have always really liked them but never had the money at the right time to buy them - there was always something else - but you still think that you would get wear out of them now or will they be banished to the back of my cupboard like those cowboy boots?

People have told me that the best place to buy them is from the official site - but have never checked it out - but apparently much cheaper even with postage.
    Answer:
The boots on that site aren't the UGG 'brand' ones although are UGGs iyswim?
If you aren't bothered about them being UGG brand then i've heard good things about
    Answer:
There are different companies that make these sort of boots from what I can see? Does it really matter if they are not ugg australia, they are still made in australia.
I got a pair of uggs in winter 05 and wore them loads throughout winter 05 and 06! So I think you would wear them, I used them like slippers!
    What the “UGG”?
Australia's Official Dictionary: The Macquarie Concise Dictionary describes UGG Boot as follows – “ug boot / Australian 100% merino sheepskin lined boot. Also called ugh boot , ugg boot”. So, UGG is not a brand name but an age old generic term for this style of Australian Made sheepskin boot.

  • Toast sale

    NO.4. ask :
    Toast sale
I am annoyed at the Toast sale as a skirt I bought in London has been marked down by £100 and I've not even had a chance to wear it yet as the weather has been so crap:faint: That will teach me to buy from them at any time other than sale time:boohoo:
The sale is good for anyone who didn't waste all there money on one full price item though. I'm quite tempted by and . I'm into my stripes as well as my polka dots just now:D

that is annoying. I am annoyed for you !!
    Answer:
sorry I previously posted this on the wrong thread but what is Toast sizing like?
    Answer:
I was looking through the archive sale yesterday and thinking of you Dots :D
Even when you buy stuff in the sale it often ends up getting reduced again. This happened to me, and was none too happy, because I didn't realise that everything was going to get reduced a second time, otherwise I would've waited. Toast ain't cheap! :cmdunno:
    Answer:
Another item I bought in the sale was reduced again too, I could have saved myself a heap of money:( It so is not cheap.
spanishdancer, the sizing is pretty random actually which is no help whatsoever! I have items ranging from a 12 - 16 that all fit fine (well, one 12 is a smidge tight but one of the 16's is a bit tight too which makes no sense and just proves my point:D ). I'd definitely recommend ordering a few sizes and seeing how you get on as they are quick at refunds if you send things back:)

I'm after a pair of control tights to hold my tummy in and hopefully slim my thighs too; to go under a bias cut silk dress for a wedding I'm going to. I like the look of the Spanx range but at £20-odd each I need to know if they're any good!
Can anyone recommend them or any others that might be cheaper?
    Thanks :)
