Sweat Tops
I am on a mission to find a nice jersey zip up sweat top (not hooded) I would like a plain black one without any big logos or patterns and one that reaches to my hips. I had a look in pineapple at Debenhams but they all were too short as in waist lenght. I would like to order it online if poss any info greatly appreciated.
Answer:
Try HM if they have a LOGG section which is usually the range that has casual clothes. I think Primark do some too but there stocks rotate so often it is difficult to say whether they have any in at the moment.
Answer:
pricey but there's some sweatybetty ones if you're interested:

also specifies the longer length, plain black

Answer:
Just to echo what Yingers said, HM and Primark have them in, in different colours - I saw them instore yesterday.

Coat for Ski-ing
I'm going ski-ing in January and I really need a coat, I've been looking around now and I know you can pay ridiculous amounts for a coat but really I'd prefer not to given it'll only get worn once a year.
Does anyone have any reccommendations?? obviously it'd need to be pink or white ideally
Answer:
How about TK Maxx. That's where one of my friends got her ski gear last winter. She had a bright pink jacket, too ;)
Answer:
TK Maxx is good for ski-wear.
The most important thing is the thermal underwear. I totally recommend a brand called 'Icebreaker'. It is pricey (about £40 for a top) but it is feather light, comfortable and keeps you at just the right temperature. I did not need to wear anything else under my jacket - although I did go in the latter part of the season when it was a bit warmer.
Answer:
Decathlon is brilliant for stuff like that - unbelievably cheap. If there's one near you, definitely give it a go. You can get all the ski accessories there too like goggles and gloves really cheaply
Answer:
I would also recommend TK Maxx, or borrow from a mate who has gone already!
Help! I've been told to come in 70s gear for my hen night on Saturday!

Help! I've been told to come in 70s gear for my hen night on Saturday!
Hi girls, Bibbitybob sent me in here to see if you can help me!
I'm having a hen night organised as a surprise on Saturday and I've been ordered to turn up in 70s gear......
I've just been and looked in a vintage shop in town and there was nothing I could find to really pull an outfit together, I am useless at this sort of thing!
I did find an amazing maxi dress with huge sleeves, but I'm scared I might get too hot.
There were some good mini-dresses too, but I don't know how 70s these really are, also I am on crutches so I can't wear anything but flat shoes at the moment. I thought a maxi dress would be good for hiding my 2007 shoes!
Has anyone got any ideas of the sort of look I could pull together and how to accessorize it? I quite like the idea of a hippy look, or fitted flares with some sort of top, as it's more 'me' and I could straighten my hair appropriately. :hippy:
I want to feel gorgeous if poss! I'm 5'8", with wobbly thighs but just about a size 10, more comfortable in size 12.
Answer:
I once went to a part as 70's Cher.
I got a long straight black wig, black boob tube and long black A line skirt, dark make up, big lashes.
Have a google of Sonny and Cher and see what looks it gives you.
Answer:
Have just been having a quick look on the DP's website, there are a few maxi dresses on there...I especially love one...
There are also a few folky tops which would look good with flared jeans, one's sweet....
Miss Selfridge also has dress in their sale...
Hope they help :)
Answer:
The 70s weren't just flares and bad ABBA pantsuits :hippy:
How about channelling Debbie Harry as inspiration (then you could wear flat pixie boots)? Or Diane Keaton in Annie Hall (brogues)? Personally I would opt for the whole Studio 54 look, but only because I'm looking for a reason to buy :D
Answer:
Babyzee that is hot! :heyhey:
What about Jodie Foster's look in Taxi Driver or even Cybil Shepard's outfits flicked hair? Agree with the Studio 54 suggestion that would be quite easy to re-create.
Have fun on your hen night :D
eta- what about looking at some 1970s films to inspire you- I just googled 1970s films (coz I'm sad) came across filmsite.org (I think). There's loads listed in date order so defo will be something to suit you. ;)

Holiday shopping

Holiday shopping
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum
I'm off on a last minute holiday to Spain or somewhere at the end of August and I need to buy some new clothes (skirts, vest tops etc) but I'm broke at the moment. Looking around the shops they have quite a lot of holiday stuff in but I was just wondering how long they keep them? Would I be better off getting what I want now and putting it on the credit card or will there still be stuff in the shops when I get paid at the end of the month?
Thanks, RJ
Answer:
Firstly, welcome
Have you looked in Primark? They're always a good bet for cheap holiday bits :)
Answer:
Yeah I will do that, I bought some really cheap flip flops from there last summer.
