Dressing like the opposite sex - for a party!
I've been invited to a birthday party :toot: and the theme is to dress like a member of the opposite sex...
clearly there will be no pink that night  I'll have to wear pink knickers :D
I am going to wear a suit, shirt and tie...I can't get anymore inspired than that?
can you help me?
I am a girls girl... I don't own boyish shaped clothing, I am not a boys shape!
I hate dressing up and looking a dick too
Answer:
Skinny jeans, black shirt, pointy shoes, multiple belts = Russell Brand. It might be abit less formal than a suit?
If I went to a party of that theme I'd always go as Russell Brand since its not too far away from my style anyway:o
Answer:
I quite like that idea. I think the girls are going to look a lot less ridiculous than the men though, so I wouldn't worry about looking silly.
What sort of suit were you thinking of? Rather than a business-type suit, you could do a trendier indie-boy type thing - slim-legged black trousers, black blazer, big white shirt and skinny black tie, perhaps with a hat.
Answer:
You could wear a pink shirt and tie :)

Where can I buy...
NO.2. ask :
Where can I buy...
...a water proof, light coat? I want a longish one that will keep me dry if the weather reverts back to its old tricks at VFestival. Preferably want it in kharky (sp?), but am not too bothered about the colour as long as it is cheap. I know it is asking alot!
Thanks in advance!

Answer:
Millets - not sexy but will keep the wet off! :D
Answer:
Strangely, try HM. I saw a few things that might be suitable in their young trend store.
Answer:
oooh defo going to go and have a look this weekend! Thanks! xxx :D
What do you think of these shoes?
NO.3. ask :
What do you think of these shoes?
I have a lot of grey in my wardrobe (several dresses) and really need some more shoes to wear with it. However, I can only really manage on chunky heels which limits my choice. What do you all think of these Topshop shoes?
I can't decide if I like them or not - I think it might be the bow I'm not convinced by. I haven't bought them yet so no need to hold back if you think they are horrid!
Also if you've seen anything else with a similar type of feel that would work with grey, it would be appreciated.
Answer:
I saw these in the OC store the other day, I am not sold on bow either :cmdunno: but I think the colour would really work with grey.
Not much help sorry
Answer:
I love the colour,I'm not that keen on the shape although they might work when they're on,I think its 'cos they're neither here nor there as they say!!
Answer:
The more I look at them the less I think I like them, especially the bow.
Unfortunately, that heel height is about the most I can manage, so I keep looking at 'neither here nor there' shoes!
Answer:
I like the shape and the colour but the bow is awful :yuck:
in office are a nice shape - but the colour isn't as nice (maybe its better in real life?)
What can I wear with...
NO.4. ask :
What can I wear with...
a. red skinny jeans
b. gold trainers
I bought them coz I just couldn't resist, but don't like to look/feel too sporty, so don't want to wear them together. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Answer:
Red skinny jeans?! Your braver than me! A lot of people don't like pumps with skinny jeans, but then a lot of people do and I am one of them! I'd wear a pair of black pumps, or maybe white with a matching white vest? I love red and white together then have some red jewerly too. There are loads of coloured hoop earrings going around now. So yeah, a white cami top/vest with black/white pumps and accerorize it with some red jewerly! Some black strappy heels would look good to with red skinny jeans! River Island used to stock some gorgeous black vests with sequins around the neck line which would look good too. But this is all just what I'd wear with the jeans.
With the gold trainers... Not so sure really, as it's not something I'd buy..?
Answer:
It's a bit random but I love red with a sort of pale possibly aqua blue iyswim, maybe with metallic flats? either a pewter shade or white gold perhaps
Answer:
hey,
yeah I like skinnies with pumps, I just don't feel very comfortable in them myself...wore my gold ones with blue skinnies and a tshirt and brown belt the other day, and I liked it but felt a bit self concious. Something I need to get over I guess.
Thanks for your help. Defo going to try out some of the options!

Do you need a tan to carry off bright colours?
NO.5. ask :
Do you need a tan to carry off bright colours?
I love bright colours and was wondering what the fashion baggers think?
I am wanting to get a birthday outfit (on Sunday woo! :yay:) together but have an English rose complexion with pink undertones- can I carry it off? I was thinking yellow, orange or red as the weather has turned nice.
What do you think?
Answer:
Well, I was reliably informed by Vogue not so long ago that there's a yellow, orange and a red for every complexion out there!
Some colours do look absolutely great on darker or olive skin, but there are some lovely rich ones that only accentuate those lovely English Rose-style complexions. I'm sure you'll carry it off perfectly if you just shop until you find something you love - tis bound to suit you that way!
NB - if you want to be really daring, you could also rock the 50s starlet style makeup that's just coming out to go with it! ;)
Answer:
My Mum is very english rose whereas I am fairly dark - always look like I could do with a good wash  and we suit the same bright pinks so go for it...
Answer:
I'm ginger and freckly and suit brights too. (more than pastels)
If you carefully pick your shade, dont forget to check it out in natural light I'm sure there is something for you! :D
Answer:
some brights work better on a pale canvas IMO. just try loads against your skin and you're bound to find the right one for you. I'd steer clear or oranges in favour of shocking pinks and jiflemon yellow with your colouring though:heyhey:
