Quick explanation of Paypal?!
Hey, i know this isn't strictly fashion but I need some help with paypal. I signed up a couple of months ago and have just sent money after buying something off US ebay - costing 100 USD. Have sent the money and everything; will the money automatically withdraw from my account or do I have to send money from my bank account to my paypal?
Thank you in advance
xx
Answer:
It does it automatically. :)
Answer:
Thank you - the seller has just emailed me saying that he hasn't recieved the payment yet, and won't ship the item till its cleared :boohoo:
Answer:
Did you get notifications that the money had been sent or a receipt of payment? Paypal should do that automatically. ETA it takes a few days to transfer the money from Paypal into a bank account and some buyers do wait till it's safely in before they send the item.
Answer:
Ive been doing similar.
You need to have real money in the paypal account.
I connected my business account to paypal account, that takes about 5 days, then to transfer money from my business account into paypal take 7-9 days, Im in the middle of that at the mo, hopefully itl be all ready to pay a US site on Monday.
Didnt realise it took so long!
best charity shops/markets in London?
NO.2. ask :
best charity shops/markets in London?
After a dodgy time the last couple of weeks, Am coming back to the UK on Monday for about a week :yay:(as I have been going on about)
... so I am working out where to go and what to do. Hopefully I will be staying just outside of London so I will be in the big smoke quite regularly. Will be good to get away for a while ...
Three questions, because I am greedy :D : which markets or market stalls do the best edgy boho fashion stuff? which vintage shops are worth a look?
AND which of the charity shops would you recommend for designer finds?
and then ... O/T in the world of going out where is good? I am thinking Camden because I am an Indie girl?

Answer:
Hey LS
Sounds as if Portobello Market will be best for you. The best bit is the part opposite Ladbroke Grove station, can't remember what it is called but it has the original Peekaboo stall (now charging extortionate prices in Topshop OC ), loads of other vintage stalls and some new designers fresh out of St Martins! The best market day is Saturday but you do have to put up with thousands of tourists. Not as bad as Camden market though! Also, all the charity shops famed for having designer stuff are also in the area...Notting Hill Oxfam, Kensington High Street etc. In Notting Hill there are a secsession of second hand shops that sell designer stuff for really good prices...some as recent as a few seasons ago. They also sell loads of gorgeous vintage pieces. The are two womens shops, a book shop, mens clothes and I think a record shop too.
Going out wise...(and being an indie girl myself) I hate Camden, too many aging goths and uptight indie tossers. Soho is miles better but there are a few decent places in Camden I suppose. It depends what you are looking for. Clubs or Pubs?
Answer:
If you're looking for designer clothes specifically, there's a British Red Cross on Ebury Street, on the corner where Ebury Street meets Eccleston Street, near Victoria station. This shop sells a lot of designer stuff secondhand, however the prices are higher than your average charity shop. ;)
There's also a few other charity shops around Victoria station if you're around that way anyway- try Warwick Way, Wilton Road, and Tachbrook Street.
If you want to find where the charity shops are in any particular area of London, use either:

Pinup and Sian thank you :higgies:
I have made a list of the stores/markets ... I hadn't thought of Notting Hill for charity shops etc.
Pinup, with respect to going out, it would be both clubs and pubs. I went out in Camden a few years ago so I guess it has fallen prey to the usual hangers-on. So where do you recommend in Soho?

Answer:
Well there are some really nice pubs around there, ok...alot of them are gay pubs... There is a really nice one called I think The Prince George just by Tottenham Court Road, off Charing Cross road.
For club nights, Afterskool has to be my favourite good music but not pretentious and cheap drinks! :D
I suggest you check out where you can check club nights by day and type of music :D It might also be handy to pick up a copy of Time Out when you get here, it goes on sale every Tuesday. :D
ETA: Afterskool site is down....try here instead

Did your French connection tunic come?
Mine has just now, only tried it on quickly and it's so fecking short on me :cmeek: And a fairly 'fitted' look.
I'm going to have to try it on properly of course (Over PJ bottoms doesn't really go :D ) but if yours is way too big and you fancy doing swaps then there's a good chance i'll be up for it.
Lovely tunic though!

Smelly Ballet Pumps!!
NO.4. ask :
Smelly Ballet Pumps!!
This is minging I know but it's really beginning to bug me....
I got some new Ballet pumps about a month ago and they have started to smell :o I don't have smelly feet as a rule but because obviously they are being worn without socks they're getting a bit whiffy!!! :yuck: They have fabric inners but I can't pull the sole out to wash it - HELP!!
I've febreezed them once but it doesn't really last, does anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions??
Answer:
maybe it's the synthetic foam of the insole (even though they are fabric lined) that's causing the smell. You can get shoe freshener sprays I think and probably air them once you get home (in a covered area if poss, just in case it rains) and maybe put a tumble drier sheet in them over night in an attempt to keep them fresh... other than that I don't know what to suggest :meh:
Answer:
This is why I now buy tons of cheap pumps in Primark for summer - they just get whiffy so quickly and I can't find a way to make the smell go permanently :cmdunno:

Answer:
If they're all fabric, I'd give them a wash in the machine.
Answer:
I hate it when that happens!
Sprinkle bi-carb of soda in them and leave overnight, then dust it all out the next day. The bi-carb neutralizes the odour:)
Evening wedding reception - but no wedding
NO.5. ask :
Evening wedding reception - but no wedding
Hi,
OH's friend got married abroad and the evening reception is tonight - what do i wear? The same sort of stuff as if i'd been to the wedding? i.e. green coast dress or something for a formal party? i.e. black pencil skirt, bustier and heels, or something for a casual party? i.e. jeans and wrap over top.
Answer:
I've been to a couple of these kind of wedding receptions and usually opt for smart party wear, not as dressed up as for a wedding, but a bit more effort than a normal party IYSWIM.

Answer:
i've opted for a lbd with some sparkling jewellery and a little clutch. that should do it. and some almond toe black shoes so not too evening-ish
Answer:
I've been to a couple of these and I would say the formal party option is most appropriate. Your outfit sounds lovely - have a great time.
Answer:
Can't go wrong with a LBD! I would find it difficult to decide what to wear as well but your choice sounds great.
