Birkenstock question
Just wondering if anyone else has high arches and finds Birkenstocks uncomfortable?
I've had three pairs, Milano (which have a heel strap) are fine, never had any problems with those, but the other two pairs are Arizona and every time I wear them they rub/cut the top of my foot until it bleeds. I've given away one pair, the other pair I still have but I keep putting off wearing them because I know they will do the same.
I was wondering if Madrids would be better, having only one strap which looks as if it will be lower down the foot and therefore avoiding the highest part of my foot?
Anyone had anything similar or am I a freak?
Answer:
I don't find them uncomfy, but my feet sweat :o and then i start to slide around in them and thats when they start to rub. So erm ... I guess i do actually find them uncomfy but only after a while of wearing them. x
Answer:
I'm a bit worried that the Madrids will come off my feet all the time...I usually prefer something a bit more sturdy.
Oh well, only one way to find out!
Answer:
I love Arizonas and have just taken delivery of a new pair. I find them supremely comfortable and I have fairly high arches. I just make sure I don't adjust the top strap too tightly - it needs to be fairly loose. I don't like the Madrid style as they feel so insecure on my feet, flopping about from the toe strap, but might be worth a try? They are cheaper than Arizonas too!
Answer:
I have very low arches, practically flat feet, and I love my Birks now, very comfy!

Look magazine - dress
One of the girls from Dance X (Camilla on the left in the article) is wearing a purple dress which I'd love. Anyone know where I can get a similar one?
ETA: I scanned it. Here it is
Answer:
Oasis has something similar, without the black ribbon belt:
Answer:
Thanks but it's a bit too expensive for what I can afford.
Answer:
Looking closely I can see it has straps and I don't think it's made of tafetta.
What should I wear?

What should I wear?
Hi girls
I have a couple of parties coming up soon, one is a bit of a celeb bash -ish and one is my mate's 30th! Then there is the small matter of my own birthday in 3 weeks  What can I wear?! I'm really stuck, and quite broke :o :(
Can you help me fashion baggers?
I'm not really sure what look to go for but I am quite short (and tend to live in flats) and average build, size 10-12 if that helps...
Thanks guys, I do realise I am being very vague and apologise :(

No-one? :boohoo: xx
Answer:
I think you might need to be a bit more specific :cmdunno:
First of all, what's your budget? Second, what do you look like (hair colour etc)? Third, do you have bits you want to emphasise or bits you want to hide? Fourth, are there any colours that you like or dislike?
Are you looking for one outfit that will do for all occasions? Do you want a dress or would you prefer a skirt and a top? Do you have shoes already (if so, a pic would be great), or do you need those as well (and if so, how much do you want to spend)?
Soooo many questions

Answer:
difficult one, quite a general question but i'd start by getting a big pile of magazines, at this time of year its all the new season stuff, what i do sometimes is cut pics out of what i loke stick them in a scrapbook of certain looks that i like...maybe i need to get out more ....!
Answer:
But decent 'basic' items. A decent pair of jeans, black trousers, leather jacket and nice (but comfy shoes) and boots. Get the basics right IMHO

Evening ladies! In a few weeks time I'm going to a relatives engagement party. I rarely see that side of my family as they can be quite critical and I hate being around people who make me feel small so I want to look and feel great.
I've seen this dress on the Miss Selfrige website which I think would be flattering on my figure (I'm size 10, 32dd, hourglass shape). Just wondered if you had any thoughts or if you've seen any nicer going out dresses?
Answer:
I think that dress is lovely and I absolutely love the colour. I think that you should try it on and if you like it then wear that! Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks as long as u like it! :)
Answer:
I really like it, lovely colour!
Warehouse and Oasis have some nice dresses in at the mo too, worth a look maybe?
Answer:
I like it too - love the colour!
I am a similiar shape to you and I think that shape dress could work. Although it could be very booby! :heyhey:
Answer:
Thanks for the opinons ladies, the dress is now out of stock (always the way isn't it) but at least it gives me an excuse for a shopping trip. ;)
