khussas?

NO.1. Ask :
khussas?
I need some flat going out shoes, and I'm considering getting some khussas.
I know they're probably a bit passé/old hat in fashion terms, but I can't say I care too much.
What I'm worried about is how comfy they are. I think I recall baggers saying they're not particularly comfy, particular after a longish period of wear, because they're not too supportive. Is this right? The last thing I need is a pair of uncomfy flat shoes!
Cheers.
Answer:
What are khusses? Are they those embroidered canvas shoes, slighty ethnic?
Answer:
My friend had a pair and said they were pretty, but just too uncomfortable as you have to wear them to mould them to your feet as there is no left and right. Also be careful with flat shoes. I wore my ballet flats to work and am still getting awful pains in my arches because they are unsupportive. But for general short term wear, once they are broken in they might be fine :)
Answer:
I got some from matalan which were leathery type material so very soft and comfy. The traditional ones are stiff though and I find them sore. Your best getting a pair from a western store if you know what I mean, so they are just a take on the traditional ones and more comfy
Answer:
the traditional ones are so god damn uncomfortable! They give me awful blisters grrrr....as purple said the western take on the traditional ones are probably much more comfy.

Pls help - need a top for a posh work dinner
    Hi all
Got a work meal tomorrow night and have nothing to wear! Am thinking that the safe option is to wear black trousers and a nice top, but honestly don't have any suitable tops. Might nip to the shops after work to try and find something, but won't have long so wondered whether anyone had seen something they could suggest. As it's a work thing I don't want anything low cut, and as it's pretty cold something with sleeves would be good. Don;t mind spending up to around £50. Any ideas anyone? Please?

    Answer:
Instead of buying a posh top, why don't you invest in a gorgeous statement necklace? (to wear over a fairly simple top) I just think you'll get more wear from a fabulous necklace :D
    Sorry if that's totally unhelpful!

Obviously two would be a more wearable colour, but being a curvy size 14 I'm wondering if the **** one would be better as its single breasted? But then will the white be limiting as to what I wear it with?

Tiny, prefer the second as the FCU K one has that detail on the shoulders that could make you look broad shouldered, iyswim? Plus, the warehouse one is gorgeous and a versatile colour :)

    NO.4. ask :
    How short is too short?
I just bought this in the sale for a fiver. I bought it to wear to the office, but I NEVER wear skirts so now I am having doubts about
a)is it horrendously unfashionable now hence why it was was in the sale and b) is it too short for office wear?
oh and also, should I be wearing tights with it? if so, what kind?
What do people think? To be honest, I'm not overly bothered if you say it is horrible because it did only cost a fiver!
    Thanks!
    Answer:
I'd of thought it was too short for office wear. I was always under the impression office wear needed to be knee length.
    Answer:
    Hi:wave:
If you are asking if its too short then yes i think it is.Maybe different if it was a different colour and you wore it with tights.
Im not too keen on the fabric myself, but each to their own!
    Answer:
Definitely too short for office wear, unless you've got a very relaxed dress code. I do wear short skirts to work, but only on dress down days and always over very thick tights or leggings.
I don't know whether it's "fashionable" or not (and frankly, who cares :p) and I think it could be made to work with a bit of care. I can't quite see the colours in the pattern - it looks as though there's yellow in it? I think it could work with slouchy round toe brown or tan boots or ballet flats and bright opaques - if there is yellow in it I'd go with mustard, orange, teal or purple. Bung a slouchy top over (maybe with a belt and/or some beads to match the tights) and there you are.

    Non-see-through white vest?!
I looove this TS top, but I refuse to pay £20 for it:
Sooo I would like to buy a plain white longline vest and customise it myself. I tried some on in NL earlier, but they were far too see-through - where can I get better ones? They need to be quite long as I'm tall as well.
    Thanks!
    xx
    Answer:
Have the tried Primark? I think their jersey basics are great. Not sure if they have an longline styles in at the mo, though.
    Answer:
Mmm I haven't yet; you're right their basics are fabulous, I just don't know as you said how longline they are... :cmdunno: I'll check next time I'm there though (which will be Friday, Oxford Street bayBEE! :D :yay: )
    Answer:
Oh that's very cute! Have you thought about wearing another white/another coloured vest underneath? I know that's *long* but I haven't seen any non see through white vests myself :cmdunno:
    Answer:
Mmm no Dooz that's a good idea, I could layer :great:
