Do you like this dress?
I know the picture of the dress is really tiny (Sorry) but I'm hoping that you might have seen it IRL or a larger picture of it.
Anyway, what do you think of it? Apparantly Louise in hollyoaks was wearing it in one of the episodes this week, but I cant remember her wearing it. :meh:
Answer:
Looks really nice, although like you say, quite a small pic so hard to tell properly what it's like!
Answer:
Very pretty, although I'm a bit suspicious about the fabric. D'you know where it's from?
g_k
Answer:
Its meant to be Satin. (So the description says, its ebay item) Origionally from Miss S.
I've always thought of Satin being a bit like Silk?
Answer:
ooh i love the colour... i think it could look amazing!

i cant find a top to go over my leggings that doesnt make me look pregnant!
NO.2. ask :
i cant find a top to go over my leggings that doesnt make me look pregnant!
okay so i bought some leggings (opted for £3 ones from primark to see if i can get on with them!so its no loss if i dont!)
but being big busted and a curvy 12 i cant find anything to go with them that doesnt make me look like i'm in maternity wear:boohoo:
please help!i dont like all these patterns, i like quite simple/plain things and i like to splash the colour with shoes/accersories!
thanks.
Answer:
I have the same problem - I'm a curvy 10-12 and everything for the last 6 months has made me look pregnant.
New look had a while a go some straight (none of this daft A line from shoulders thing) tunicy tops/dresses. I got a black one with a round neck and slightly bell sleaved. I think it was £10 - but it was shoved at the back of a load of other stuff.
Also shops are starting to get summer dresses in which have waists - its too cold for tanned legs etc but a pair of leggings would work?
Answer:
I find dresses more flattering on myself over leggins as the cut is slightly different.
Answer:
:) i like the idea of a dress over leggings, i will have to have another look around.
i'm just finding alot of the fashions at the moment really hard to wear personally.i'm at that age where i kind of know what suits me/what i like, and i want to take just peices of whats 'now' that i like, but still be me! (does that make any sense?)
thanks for the replies!
Answer:
Thought id leave a post as I recently bought a long top from hm which is similar to many other styles around but it doesnt make you look pregnant. it is like a vest top but a bit wider at the bottom with a little pocket on one side and is is elasticated just under the bust. Its more of a basic top but comes in quite a few colours i think and cost £7.99. Its too short to wear with just leggings but a denim skirt might look okay with it. Hope that helps in some way as although im an 8, i can still look like there could be a bump somewhere under all the material. x
does this top go with these jeans?
NO.3. ask :
does this top go with these jeans?

eta: in the first pic i look like a giant. im bigger than the wardrobe!
Answer:
I prefer it left out. Tucked in, it has less of a casual vibe.
Answer:
There is something not right about it tucked in, but it looks really great left out :)
Answer:
I prefer it left out too :great:
Answer:
I prefer the top out rather than tucked in. It's more flattering, as your jeans are flared, the top flares too, so it looks more flattering on you.
The shopping experience
NO.4. ask :
The shopping experience
Does the *experience* of shopping affect where you shop and what you buy? I was reading my favourite blog and the blogger put this question out and got some interesting responses but only a few from the UK ( - scroll down to near the bottom "How Do I Reconcile H M" post).
I like to go in a shop and browse wihout being hassled so I like department stores or large boutiques rather than small boutiques where you feel too much pressure to buy. I also like to take my time in the fitting room without having someone peering over the door. On the other hand I hate Primark and H M, too messy and horrific queues. I guess Gap gets the balance right - friendly, knowledgeable staff, enough fitting rooms and no pressure to buy.
What do you think?
Answer:
I would love to go in little botiques, but Hate also being hassled and feeling pressured to buy something.
I went in one the other day, only person in it, got a massive hello, felt inclined to say bye as I left and she watched me walk around and when I was looking at a top she was behind me like "Its lovely isnt it"...
Answer:
Absolutely, only yesterday I had to steer my mother out of debenhams because in the space of two minutes stood in the SAME shoe section two b loody assistants came over cooing 'can i help you at aaaaallllllll' , which irritates the life out of my mother because she loves nothing more than browsing and is just as much a shopaholic as me, but being hassled like that puts her off her stride :D
But at the other end of the scale, while the same shop was owned by an irish company with the exact same shoe franchise in it, I recall having to wait 20 MINUTES one lunchtime with a friend who wanted a pair of boots. There were 2 girls at the till, but apparently they didn't work for the franchise she wanted the boots from, and did nothing for her but tell her to wait for the correct person to return!
You need a happy medium of friendly staff who are available to help if you need them, and to be fair, that is the norm in most of the shops I've gone into
Answer:
Mr Winky is indeed very handsome! I like them big ears ;)
It annoys me when SAs hassle me too, but then again, I quite like chatting to staff sometimes, especially when they seem to be taking a genuine interest and not just trying to sell you something. It's quite rare to find that though, so mostly I'm just happy if they leave me alone but are friendly and give me help if I want it!
g_k
Answer:
Oh definitely! I like to be left alone, but know that help is there if I need it. I'm quite shy and I will avoid going into a shop if I'm the only one in there! :o
When I was in America and Australia, it drove me mad how the shop assistants were really over-friendly, but that's just because I'm not used to it. In the US I went to Abercrombie Fitch and Hollister, A LOT and every time I went in they said exactly the same thing to me as if they were reading off a script! In one shop I walked out because the guy was hassling me every time I glanced at anything.
Even worse, in Australia I was trying on some boardshorts in the changing room when a guy who worked there knocked on the door and bellowed "How are you getting on with those?!" Scared the hell out of me!
Unfortunately, having worked in Retail Management, we were told to make sure the staff approached everyone in the store and even though we knew it P'd a lot of people off, we had to keep encouraging the staff to do this
Are white trousers chavtastic?
NO.5. ask :
Are white trousers chavtastic?
I've got another thread on here somewhere about my search for an outfit for a wedding in May. (Just in case - I'm a size 22, so not the easiest person to dress!). I thought I had found the perfect dress, and my friends and family all say it looks nice, but I just don't feel comfortable in it, so it's going back.
I've decided I wont feel at home in a dress, so I've been erring more towards a top and trousers affair. There are some really nice tunic/wrap style tops about at the moment, which are quite flattering on me. Normally I would wear these with smart, black, wide legged linen/similar trousers and nice shoes, but as it's a May wedding I don't particularly want to be in black.
So...I'm thinking a nice floaty tunic top in pink/red and some ivory/white trousers. I'm perfectly happy to spend money to get nice trousers that aren't see through, and hang properly, but am just wondering what the general opinion on white trousers is.... are they a bit of a no-no?
Thank you!
Answer:
No, not at all; think they're very chic when worn properly. Unless, of course, they are white shellsuit trousers with tacky logos on the bum!
I personally wouldn't wear white or cream to a wedding without checking with the bride first, but that's probably just me being peculiar as usual!

Blimey...hadn't even thought of that! It's only trousers though, not as if I'm going for the entire white suit and veil look..? ;)
Answer:
I love white trousers, and think they look great with tunic style tops, or wrap tops! I especially love wide legged white trousers - they are very slimming on the waist (and I need all the help I can get ;) ).
Edited to add: I think white trousers would be fine for a wedding - a dress would be a different matter entirely :)
Answer:
wide legged white trews and linen trews are lovely
they only look chav if you can see your thong and cellulite through them
i dont think white trousers will cause any kind of stir at a wedding!! its not as if your wearing a white suit!
