Shoe Dye - anyone ?
Hi everyone - sorry to disturb - dont come in here much - need help :D
I'm looking for shoe dye - to buy online or in a shop - i need a hotpink colour. fabric or leather as i havnt bought the shoes yet but i need the dye to be hotpink. If ANYONE can direct me in the right direction, i'd be so thrilled.
Thanks :D
Answer:
This website might help and Woollies stock Dylon dyes.
Answer:
Dylon have some for satin and leather, but the range isn't great. From what I've seen, leather shoe dyes seem to be mostly limited to dark colours.
My first stop would probably be a good art shop - one of my local art shops used to do a huge range of dyes for satin shoes (and may still do; haven't been in for ages) but I'm damned if I can remember what the range was called....
g_k
Answer:
remnent kings have shoe dye.
i was in a small outlet of theirs last week and i thought it was rather a good selection that they had!
don't know if this helps any but alot of the wedding shops in glasgow will dye the shoes for you, have you tried any wedding style shops?
ruelafayette does shoe dying but i have no idea if this shop is nationwide,
sorry!
Answer:
A word of warning, I would stick to dyeing satin shoes if I were you. I dyed some boots with dylon leather dye, and it basically a surface paint that started to crack on creases when I wore the boots. As far as I'm aware dylon make two types of leather dye, but the one that might come in hot pink will be the one that I used. Not that I've dyed satin shoes myself, but I imagine it to be a lot more successful.
O/T but fell down the stairs this morning and angry with Boss!

O/T but fell down the stairs this morning and angry with Boss!
I took a bad tumble down the stairs at home this morning (my heel of my shoe got caught on the back of the hem of my trousers, my knee propelled me forwards and I rolled down about 6 stairs and landed in a heap at the bottom!) I'm OK though - bashed both hands trying to grab the bannister and knocked the side of my head also in the process but nothing broken (I hope!). Anyway in floods of tears I rang Mr LA who was on the train. I told him I felt really shaky but that he wasnt to worry as my parents were popping over this morning anyway (they often come to my house when I am work) as they are off to Rome on Thursday and wanted to leave my daughter her Easter egg.
I asked him to call my boss to tell him there was a chance I wouldnt be in - I felt and still feel really shaky and my legs and a hands are painful. Not to mention my head which now has a nice lump forming on the side  .
Boss then calls me on my mobile to ask if I was OK and what time would I be in work! Now I know that I havent broken anything and I havent been carried off in an ambulance (thankfully) but at the moment I just want to lay down and have a rest. He is a complete control freak and cant do anything for himself and I know there is nothing pressing to do, although I understand that obviously I should be at work as normal.
I didnt say too much to him other than I would see how I feel and call him later. I am fuming. I only live locally to the College where I work and he calls me for EVERYTHNG! He thinks nothing of ringing me when I am on holiday (once while I was actually trying to check in at Gatwick - the check in clerk thought I was one of those people who cant function unless they are on their mobile and proceeded to sit me and Mr LA separately! ) He rings me when I am off sick - a few weeks ago I had a raging bout of flu but felt the need to come in as he more or less didnt give me a choice. I went in after one day off just for the morning as I thought he really needed me but it turned out he just wanted me to book train tickets for him and his family for an upcoming Easter weekend to see Dancing on Ice!
Sorry for the long post but I am really pissed off and wanted to rant on here.
I'll probably end up going in this afternoon because I feel guilty if I dont but dont Bosses like this piss you off???!!!!

Answer:
Poor you, hope you're feeling a better soon.
I suggest that you get a private mobile which you do not let anyone at work have the number of (except personal friends who you can trust not too give it to him). When it is not reasonable that your boss to be in contact with you then you can switch your work mobile off and still have access to your personal life. If he has contacted you on your personal mobile, change the number and don't let him have the new one, if you need a mobile for work they must provide you with one which you can then make clear that you will switching off out of hours.
I never give my home number or my private mobile number to my employers after being hassled at home when I was sick years ago by a similar boss to yours.
Answer:
He shouldn't be ringing you on your personal mobile when you are off sick or on holiday, full stop.
He certainly shouldn't be ringing you when you are on holiday to ask you personal favours which are not work related.
I would think seriously about reporting him to your Human Resources department if he carries on doing this.
It is unacceptable for him to put pressure on you to work when you are unwell and could be construed as bullying/harrassment.
Answer:
you should speak to HR but first change your mobile and perhaps have a payg one for work for him to contact you on and have the number on your personal one witheld and always turn it off when your at home
he isnt allowed to contact you when your off sick and your legally allowed a 12 hr rest break every day in which you are not or cant be contacted
it might be too late today but i would get something sorted this week and then start turning the phone off straightaway
Answer:
I agree - change your mobile number and see your HR department! I had a similar kind of boss - he would call up at 7am etc to talk about the day's work, constantly call if I was off sick etc. I went away for the one holiday I ever had while working for him (of course it would look weak to him if I took the full holiday entitlement - grrrr) and the week I was away he went mad that I wasn't in mobile phone contact!
A total nightmare. In the end I changed work as soon as I was offered a better job elsewhere, after I had to witness him telling everyone that he would never have employed a friend/co-worker of mine if he had known she had a medical condition, which was diagnosed a few months after starting work for him! Such people don't seem to live in the real world and are so high maintenance. Our reaction is to constantly explain ourselves (because we believe that will make them more rational) but that seems to make them relish the control they have over us, doesn't it? You need to set your boundaries very strictly with such people.
You are so lucky that you weren't more badly hurt when falling down the stairs, so pamper yourself and if I were you get a doctor's note and take the whole day off. :higgies:

What can I get him online?
NO.4. ask :
What can I get him online?
Its my step Dad's birthday in a week, and I need to order a pressie which can be delivered to him (as I won't see him).
I considered a watch but he wears lovely classic watches and I can't afford anything that nice.
I usually get him a funky F C U K tshirt, but haven't seen any I liked yet.
I have just found out that his old band from the 80s is reforming for a gig at Shepherds Bush Empire, so maybe something related to music/singing.
The last present I got him that he liked was a Ramone's t-shirt (can you tell I always buy him a t-shirt?!)
So, any ideas?
Answer:
hmmm cult do "vintage" band tees... Ramones/ACDC/ etc etc -
If you want a real band tee try
Everything but the music -www.ebtm.com
Merch direct -
attutude clothing (this might be a bit teenage goth for your needs)
www. hottopic.com - american version of attitude
Id have a rummage on cult first though... :D
Answer:
OOhh having a look on cult reminded me that me and my mum recently converted him to wearing scarves (we got him a nice **** one) and now he wears it all the time. So may get a scarf.
Answer:
Cant decide. Cant find anything online - so I should go out, buy something, and then post it. But I should stay in as I have to write a dissertation.
Any other ideas?
Topshop and stock enquiries
NO.5. ask :
Topshop and stock enquiries
I've emailed topshop website about a jacket I want which is out of stock on the website, in fact they don't even have the colour I want on there.
Are they usually any help at advising when more stocks might come in or am I wasting my time?
thanks! x
Answer:
I think zoom deal with their enquires and they're pretty clueless when it comes to stock levels from experience.
Answer:
That's interesting.
Thanks - I may just try and ring a few stores direct instead.
Answer:
The best thing is to ring the OC branch as they can contact the warehouse (they've done this for me before).
Answer:
cheers PC - good tip :)
