if i was to make my own denim shorts from a pair of jeans....
i want some dark denim shorts and cant find any i like, so i was thinking of buying a £6 pair of jeans from primark and hacking the legs off
do i need to hem them? i like the turn up effect so do i need to stitch them u think? I might practice on an old pair that i already have
Answer:
Two years ago I cropped some jeans, hand stiched a hem, so they are coming down a little, but still look cute. I'm loving that they are fashionable again!
Answer:
thanks for that CJ im gonna have a play this weekend i think :D
Answer:
You can glue the hem with no sew fabric glue or use hemming strips (cant remember what they are called but woolies sell them) if you can't/don't want to sew :)

I'm looking for nice white jeans
NO.2. ask :
I'm looking for nice white jeans
Can anyone point me in the direction of some please! I'm leaning more towards a straightish leg, but defintiely want a boot cut.
I'm willing to spend a fair bit on them but I don't get on with highstreet jeans like Topshop, Miss Selfridge, HM etc so they are out straight away.
Thanks :)
Answer:
Maybe you could drop Liz Hurley a line and see where she gets hers :D :D :D

Oh cheers, I've avoided them for so long because of her!! I've just come around to the idea and now your putting me off again! :p
Answer:
My friends both bought theirs in TopShop, they look lovely on them....(I'd never dare try them, it'd only end in :boohoo: )
Answer:
i got some from matalan the other week. they cost a tenner and they're slim fit, but they have boot cut too. loads of styles and colours in there at the moment.
for a tenner it doesn't matter if you accidently spill red wine on them or something! just go back and get some more :heyhey:
New look returns primark exchanges?
NO.3. ask :
New look returns primark exchanges?
I have a cardigan I got from NL last week, I took the tags off (but do still have them) and have the reciept. Can I return it for a refund? I put it on after removing the tags and decided I didnt like it anymore.
Also I picked up a skirt from Primark, it has the tag on it still but I have no reciept - can I exchange?
Thanks.
Dont want to make pointless trips into town if neither is possible! :p
Answer:
Yes to New look, but no to primark as they are very strict
Answer:
NL won't be a prob like PS said but you have to have a receipt for an exchange in Primark. I was reading it on the wall in the refund/exchange queue on Sun afternoon thinking "Oh they've changed their policy".
Answer:
For Primark, I don't think they are terribly strict about having a receipt for an exchange. If you wanted a refund that would be a different matter, but I'm fairly certain they'd exchange for you without a receipt.
I used to work in Primark at end of last year, and I've exchanged without a receipt, and there are no different rules for staff or discount for that matter!
Answer:
Well I saw one lady being refused an exchange on one of the items she had cos she had no receipt and it IS in big ol' print on the wall so maybe it's a new rule drafted in for 2007
The stores are so big anyone can pick up 2 items downstairs then take them upstairs asking for an exchange and staff would be none the wiser.

I know a lot of you have been here...just wondered if anyone could recommend a place to stay? We've found cheap flights around my birthday :yay: so if we can get a budget sleep then we'll be jetting off there for a few days! :D
I've found an apartment for £40 a night each, just wondered if anyone know anything cheaper? I'm not fussed about the place, as long as location is good and there's a bed for me to sleep on!
Answer:
I stayed here:
with my flatmate last summer and it is pretty basic, but you get your own room and it's safe, friendly and secure and located in the best place for getting to SoHo, the village. Near lots of very cool bars and restaurants and just across the street from CGBG's (now sadly closed) and doesn't feel too touristy.
Answer:
i recommend . I live in NYC (well, some of the time - the rest I am in Washington DC) and we pretty much always go out in the East VIllage anyway. This place is clean and safe and very cute, when I've had a full house a few of my friends have stayed there and really liked it.

I stayed here when I went too and also recommended it to a friend who has just been, for the price there's nothing better.
The room is basically just a bed but there was just about space for my 2 large suitcases :D There's no proper ceilings though so it got a bit loud.
I also stayed in one of the YMCAs - they're a bit more central and the rooms are more like hotel rooms but it was slightly more expensive - in one room I had a fridge and the other my own basin. You did get slightly better bathrooms/access to the gym etc and depending on the places you want to visit it might be worth paying more to save on transport costs (though buses and the subway are excellent).
Answer:
wow NYC is amazing, i'm very jelous!!
I stayed in the comfort inn manhattan, its on 35th street between 5th 6th ave (under the empire state) the rooms were nice (a bit dark but that is true in most of manhattan) there was plenty of room, a bathroom, air con unit, wardrobe dresser, hair dryer kettle etc nice and safe.
can't remember who we booked through though  but we managed to get a very cheap deal!! worth a look anyway.
Got these today- SUPER LUSH!
