NO.3. ask :
O/T/ Anyone else have pain in the arse neighbours?
This area used to be lovely. So peaceful, lots of birds around so in the summer all you could hear was them tweetering away ahhhhh bliss!
Twat family move in next door and arghhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Today on and off most of the day music so feckin loud and i can hear the bass and it's driving me insane :boohoo: :banghead:
They talk loud (well shout really), the kids scream and instead of talking shout too, they play music so we can hear the bass in our house (and we're not the connecting house either!).
We can't sit in our lovely tranquil garden :(
That along with next door who have taken 10 months so far to do up a house that hasn't even got a kitchen or bathroom yet, they haven't moved in but decide to torment us with banging every other weekend or so
We had the two best neighbours til a year ago but one got remarried and moved to his wife's house and the old lady moved back to Scotland after 40 years to be with her daughter.....COME BACK!!!!!
I can't even go out to escape them :boohoo:
Not expecting a reply, just needed to rant!
Hope everyone else has lovely neighbours, please tell me it's not like this everywhere :knees:
Answer:
You have my upmost sympathy hun!
How about 3 dogs, a drum kit, a woman with permanent pmt and a foghorn voice, a footballer wannabe son who kicks balls in and out of your garden all day!
on the other side an alleyway where kids hang out and drink and has been a drug den in the past with a dealer and a brothel area:eek:
3 doors down kids with a professional size trampoline that squeaks constantly along with the screaming kids on the park opposite!
Would you believe I live in a nice respectable area:faint:
Answer:
Oh chick, I really sympathise :higgies: There are few things worse than horrible neighbours. Your home is meant to be YOUR space, where you can do whatever you want, whenever you want, and when someone spoils that, it's hard to stay calm!
I once had a terrible neighbour. My flat was 2nd floor and he was directly above. I actually had no idea who lived there, so I was terrified to go up and confront him as I was living alone. The music was the worst. The roof would shake and I could literally "feel" the bass from the music, and couldn't hear my own TV over it. During the day I couldn't get any studying done. To begin with, I put a nice note through saying something like "Sorry to be a pain, maybe you're not aware but your music is very loud etc". It stopped for a while then started again. Next note I put through just said "your music is TOO LOUD! Please turn it down". My next resort would have been to threaten contacting his landlord, but he ended up moving out shortly after. I was always scared of bumping into him in the corridor, I'm a total coward!
I'm back living with my parents at the mo and we only have the odd neighbour issue - noisy kids, cars parked all over the shop etc. But most of the time it's bearable and in fact quite nice to remind us that there are other people living their lives nearby.
I hope things calm down chick, not sure I can offer any advice. It's always worth asking other neighbours if they feel the same, or trying the polite letter tactic - even make up excuses like studying, elderly neighbours being upset etc etc. Not sure it would do any good of course, but I guess it is a remote possibility that they don't realise the noise they're causing and would try to tone it down if they knew!
Big hugs to ya sweetie
Answer:
what a nightmare. i think theyre becoming more common as people in general get less considerate.
i used to live next to some very noisy students, but the worst person i ever had as a neighbour was this old bird who clearly had senile dementia. now i did feel sorry for her but i think she should have been in a home/warden controlled accommodation or the like as she often left the oven etc on so we would see the fire engines arriving
she would often wake everyone in our flats up in the middle of the night, when we had all been asleep, shouting "shut up, i can hear you, youre making a racket" really loudly! she would call us monsters and other insults which were charming. as she wasnt in her right mind, but it was her house, we couldnt do anything but move out :cmdunno:
Answer:
Thanks both.
We did ask the neighbours that are adjoined to them if they hear it and they said not really. So either their walls are really good or they are deaf (they're elderly).
Don't think they are the kind to be nice about things either. They parked across our drive once when we were out and i had to ask them to move politely so Mr C could get on the drive. Anyone would have thought i'd killed her grandma with the look she gave me
I've tried the talking loudly in the back garden technique but i think them/the music is so loud they can't hear me anyway
ETA: Thanks Gem too!

I know a few of you baggers have brought this blue TS dress, and i just wondering on how it fits, and what kinda shoes would you wear with it. x
Answer:
I should get mine sometime next week, i'll let you know when it arrives :)
I'll probably wearing it with gold flat sandals.
Why don't you order it with the free PP code, that way it doesn't cost you anything if it's no good and you don't risk it going out of stock.
Answer:
Mine hasn't arrived yet either but I expect it'll be here either Tuesday or Wednesday so I'll let you know what it's like then too :)
I'm going to be wearing it with silver or gold sandals.

Yes I do. But I also shop when i'm happy, angry, indifferent etc :D
Shopping definitely cheers me up though, quite dramatically actually. If I'm having a bad day a little lunchtime purchase does wonders for my spirits!! :o
Answer:
oh yes all the time! in fact i was having a lovely chilled day out on friday with my other half, but i still didnt feel happy til id bought something  truly pathetic but it just made my day...

Answer:
Guilty!
It really common actually I went for counselling and she said its compensation for something which is probably right in my case - I wasn't as bad before my dad died. My cat died last year and withing 24 hours I had spent nearly £300 on a Miu Miu bag :o
I find it only give me a temporary boost though then I feel worse, either fat in something that doesn't suit me or guilty because I have spent so much money
