Roller Disco - London
I'm going in a couple of weeks and i'm sure a few of you have been (i hope so any way)
What do i wear - will i look totally out of place in
some thing like this (but a bit more covered up) or a rara skirt (with hotpants under) with leg warmers.
Or would i be better off in jeans and a glittery top?
Thanks
Answer:
You'll be fine in that, it's disco heaven, have fun!
If you do a search someone was only asking the same thing a little while ago.
Answer:
I want to go!!
I'm sure that outfit will be prefect, definitely not jeans and a top :)
Primark this afternoon
NO.2. ask :
Primark this afternoon
I'm off to Primark this afternoon and know a few of you are after things. I can get stuff for peeps if you let me know in the next hour.
Any idea who wanted what? :uzzle:
Answer:
Aw Moog, that's lovely of you to offer
I haven't been able to get to a Primark for months so I don't know what's new in, but if you happen to see a pair of the leopard-print ballet pumps they did last year then I'd love a pair in a 6 please :) I've got no idea if they've done them again this year, so that's probably a total long-shot (they probably don't even have any) but just thought I'd ask! I *loved* last years, I've worn out 2 pairs already and am desperate for another pair!
Hoipe you get lots of lovely goodies for yourself :D
Answer:
They're on my list for you
I think Supercat wanted the ethnic/tribal smock dress in a 12 or have I got that wrong?
Answer:
GJ the leopard pumps aren't out this yr ..not yet anyway. They have pink, green, cream, gold snakeskin pumps with a gold trim though. I'm not keenon them though and it's best to seem them IRL first iykwim.

Ah right, thanks for that hun :) Not so keen on the sound of the snakeskin ones so I think I'll leave it and keep my fingers crossed they do the leopard ones again :fingers: They were so popular last year weren't they, so hopefully they will!
Thanks again for the offer Moog
Completely O/T but didnt know where to post

Completely O/T but didnt know where to post
Hi Girls.
I did look around and see where else I could post this but couldnt find anywhere suitable? Know this is probably the worst place to post it, but would be nice to hear opinions from people who I recognise.
Been looking after my 9 year old cousin and found on her windowsil 'The kids at school bully me'. I questionned her about it, and basically she said her mum found it and its going to be painted over... Explained that wasnt my problem, wanted to know why she had wrote it. She said "because they do", I asked her a few more questions and she said the people in year 6 (Shes in year 4? I think) call her names, I said do they do to that to everyone and she said pretty much basically. I then questionned it further as she looked quite upset, and found out that there is a particular girl in her class who has been calling her names. She said she tells the teacher but he doesnt do anything. I asked if this girl hits or pushes her or anything she said that she hits her on the arm.
Basically I need some advice on how to approach the whole subject, how do I find out if she is actually being bullied or if its a sort of (Dont want this to sound cruel or anything) two-way thing, whereby they're both nasty to each other. I've been bullied twice before, when I was in year six and year eleven, both times had to be dealt with by my mum going to the school, so I know how scary it is to tell someone about it, but I also know that alot of people look upon it as "what are you saying to make them do that?" IYSWIM, until you explain in great detail what has been going on.
The whole windowsil thing just seems so drastic, I asked if she had seen it on TV as she does watch alot of programmes that she perhaps shouldnt, but she said No...
I've told my Auntie, but I think my Auntie doesnt think its anything serious as she didnt seem that phased (She has got alot on her plate at the moment, and my cousin can be a bit of a tell-tale). However, having told my Mum once that a girl was being 'nasty' to me (when she was bullying me) and having it not taken seriously RE bullying (because you dont go into great detail, and when you say you've just fell out or they just call you names, it doesnt always seem like bullying does it but you dont want to say it is bullying either because you feel emmbarassed) I know that things like this should be watched alarmingly.
:cmdunno: I dont know what Im expecting you to lot to say really, Just quite upset as I didnt even consider it before and now, if she is being bullied, :boohoo: Poor thing.

I think you've written down your reasons for concern really eloquently and I wonder whether a first step would be to sit down with your cousin and tell her about your experiences and ask her whether she thinks it might be similar. If there is not very much to worry about then at the very least she will be more informed about how destructive bullying behaviour can be and she may be able to support other friends or challenge behaviour they might show. If there is something more sinister going on then you may become a "safe" person to talk to and you can help (possibly) to explain to her Mum etc.
All in all though she is a lucky little girl that you care and are able to listen to her

Thanks so much for your reply. Think I just needed some reassurance that I was doing everything I can, had been advised by my Mum to take a similar route of explaining that I had been bullied myself and to make sure she understood fully what it entailed, however I didnt really know how to go about it all, but asking her if she thinks she is dealing with a similar sort of situation is exactly the way I will approach it with her. I will do so tomorrow, or later on if she pops round, dont really want to question her infront of her Mum as she is obviously trusting me, and dont want to ruin that until I know a bit more, but everything I find out will go to her Mum and I'll definately make her see how serious it is, if it is. Thanks again. :)

What she said :)
I'm afraid I don't have much experience of either kids of bullying so I'm not much help, but I was going to suggest you had a look on some children's anti-bullying charity websites such as or - they might give you some ideas on how to approach it?
I hope your little cousin is okay, kids can be so cruel sometimes. xx
Answer:
i think ambukate has given you some fantastic advice there piglet. and as she says, your cousin is very lucky to have you. keep us up to date with how you go on.
