Brown boots tights combination
Hi all
I have some chocolate brown knee high boots and am confused as to what colour tights I should where with them? Brown or black?
Say am wearing a black skirt brown top?
Are there any rules?
Thanks
Jes
Answer:
I personally would never wear black with brown, but I think there may be an ongoing debate about this!

Re: Brown boots tights combination
There are rules, sort of, but everyone has different opinions on how they can be broken! Personally, I don't normally wear anything much darker than chestnut with black, but I know some baggers will wear chocolate brown and black quite happily and I'm sure it looks fine!
With the black/brown combination, you need to be a bit more careful than usual to tie everything together properly - say a brown scarf or belt if you're wearing brown boots. I think a brown top, black skirt, black tights and brown boots would look better than brown tights, but that's just me.
You could try wearing dark green or aubergine-coloured tights with brown boots too. Perhaps the most helpful thing to say is to assess each outfit on its merits and see what looks best - e.g. if your skirt is plain brown, avoid brown tights and try green ones instead.

Thanks girls
Oh, didn't realise it was so complicated. Think I will just have to try on a few combinations and see what it looks like.

I saw a someone when I was on my way into work yesterday who was wearing brown knee high boots with dark brown tights and it looked really good! She was wearing what looked like a burnt orange mini-dress, a wide choc brown belt and a choc brown leather short bomber style jacket and I thought she looked amazing!
Roll Necks / polo Necks
NO.2. ask :
Roll Necks / polo Necks
Hi there,
Fairly new to the board, i am looking for either a roll neck or polo neck jumper to wear with a short denim skirt (black / blue) I have looked in a number of shops over the last wee while but to no avail, any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Answer:
benetton pretty much always have them, so that's where i'd look first.
Answer:
I always used to buy Gap ones... but this winter all of mine have come from HM.
What kind do you want? I would always used to buy the Gap Alpine turtle neck ones which are ribbed knit 100% cotton, in recent years they have added stretch to them also.
This year I've gone for fine knit cotton/nylon/lycra ones from HM... they fit real nice and wash well also. I also got a couple of chunky knit wool ones too which have also been quite good. They quality and value are really good I find.
Dungarees...

Dungarees...
Someone (was it pinkladybird?) was asking about dungarees the other day. Topshop have some online - go to 'Jeans' and it's the first item.

Yet another nosy thread...

Yet another nosy thread...
...I'm sure something similiar has been done before, but hey, I'm a nosy cow :p and I need something to distract me from pre-assessment centre nerves!
So... What size or shape are you? (no need to be specific if you don't want to!). Are you happy with it or would you like to change it? And what's your favourite way of dressing to show your figure off?
To answer my own questions:
I'm a size 8, sometimes a 6, sometimes a 12. I'm fairly muscular and have a funny shape which I don't particularly like - broad shoulders, slim upper body, narrow waist, curvy hips and thighs - sort of a cross between a pear and an hourglass, I guess. I suppose I shouldn't complain at my size, but I would much rather be a couple of sizes bigger and have longer (and slimmer) legs and more in the way of chest baggage! I'd love to be able to wear mini skirts, skinny fit jeans, and corset tops, but I can't. :(
The things I do like about myself are my waist - I really liked the trend for wearing belts over jumpers and cardigans this year - and my back and shoulders. I have a thing about backless evening dresses (not that I get many chances to wear them) and halter-necked tops for that reason...
Boasting over.

I am, what those politically correct fashion peeps like to call, a 'plus size' lady. Unfortunately I'm not one of the gorgeous voluptous curvy ones - more the flumpy ones with no boobs and no ass who carries all her weight on her tummy
However my physical short comings just make me love fashion all the more - I have always refused to dress 'like a fat person'. No tents or muu muus for me :D :D :D
Answer:
I am straight up and down from the front,BUT turn me sideways, and I am curvy!!!Weird,no?
*a big head!!
*I have straight but smallish shoulders
*big boobs that look bigger than they actually are!
*a wide waist
*very round belly :(
* very slim,straight hips
*a small bum-I wish it was a bit more rounded!
*long slim legs
*small feet
I am not too unhappy with my lot-I just wish my stomach was smaller!!
Answer:
I know someone who is also a 'plus size', and, like FP, she loves clothes and fashion and refuses to dress like a 'fat' person. I really admire her, not only for her fashion sense, and because she has to work against a sizeist fashion industry and often limited choice, but because she has the self-confidence and belief to dress how she wants, not how society/fashion expects her to. She invariably looks great and really knows what suits her.
I'm quite interested to find out how many people on this board conform to the fashion 'ideal' of slimness; everyone on this board always seems so sussed and stylish and (at least judging from the 'What are you wearing?' thread) wears really nice clothes.

I *heart* you so much!!! I intend to go to uni to do Fashion Promotion - eventually I want to be a stylist, or a fashion photographer. I know it's going to be a job and a half because of my size but quite frankly, I dont give a stuff what people think :) If the industry hasnt changed to accept larger sizes then I'll start my own label!!!
what bag?
NO.5. ask :
what bag?
I am off to Goa in a week or so and need inspiration . Last year I had a luella mulberry bag made in dark tan leather I love it and now I need something a bit smaller and summery, not shoulder.
Any pics on here would be cool so I can have a nose and maybe print one off for them to copy.:)
Answer:
I'm getting this one made by the HK bag lady. But if you don't want shoulder, have a look here and here for some ideas.
Answer:
thank you I like the marc jacobs bags.
Answer:
Have a look on the marc jacobs website also... there are a few lovely bags on there.
I love the Guinevere bag in red - might ask the HKBL to do me one of these!
