Anyone think there are too many stickies?

Anyone think there are too many stickies?
There are now 5 stickies on fashion, which means that new threads are falling off the page too quickly, and we see the same old thing!Do we need so many-it's a bit annoying,IMO.
The one thread I think should be a sticky is Nazneen's 'Spot check' thread-that has been going for ever, and always gets replies!
What do you think?
Answer:
The sale dates and accessories threads can go now IMO. I never read 'What did you buy this wek either' but it has a fair few replies so someone's making use of it!
Answer:
I'll see what I can do - which ones do you want to keep?
Answer:
Hi FP,
its nothing personal, but I am now finding them irritating-I would get rid of...
sale dates
amazing accessories (only has 3 replies!)
content monitors
and make 'spot check' a sticky-I love that thread!!

    Posh bag angst
A couple of months ago I bought a bag that is - for me - very expensive. I've not wanted to use it in case it got damaged.
Can't find a link to it don't have a digital camera; in case you know it, it's an Octavia from Hobbs in chocolate brown. It's quite roomy and a boxy sort of shape, though quite soft leather, with a large zipped central compartment and has straps with belt-like buckles.
It's a fairly practical daytime sort of bag.
"Is that another new bag?" is something my friends are used to saying - normally those I buy are under £30 though; my last two were fabric only £15.
But this cost ten times as much as one of those, at £150.
(I guess you could imagine it as being equivalent to something much more upmarket, for you guys who often use bags like this one.)

I can't be arsed switching stuff between bags all the time, and common fates for my bags include having pints of beer spilt directly over them by clumsy drunken friends (has happened twice in last 6 months) and getting chalk on them from the changing rooms at the climbing wall, as well as the usual public loo floors when there are no hooks or surfaces, being placed on the ground for a minute when I put down a lot of heavy shopping at the bus stop etc.
Finding it difficult to adjust to the idea of putting such an expensive thing through that. But if I don't use it, it's a waste of money. Could sell it I suppose, but it's a nice bag and I like the idea of having a real leather one for the first time in years.
Do other people think similar stuff? What do you end up doing?
    Answer:
chocolate brown leather cleans up fine with a bit of saddle soap, i speak from personal experience
    Answer:
IMO the point of buying an expensive bag is so it withstands the daily wear and tear. Plus leather always looks better battered and is easily repaired :)
    Answer:
Yeah - don't worry about it - they always clean up nicely. I had a suede bag that one of my nephews dropped a greasy piece of pizza on, and I used suede shampoo, brushed the nap up again and it's good as new.
You shouldn't feel like your things own you - just enjoy it. A good leather bag gets better with age. My Luella gets better and better every time I use it - the leather is getting softer from being opened.
    Answer:
I suppose so. :) After all, I've had my leather Anya Hindmarch purse/wallet (same colour as this bag too!) for 3 years now and it still looks good, in a slightly battered way.
The other thing that worries me is that I might attract muggers if I've got something that looks expensive. (Bag visible, purse not.) Though the average chav bloke probably can't tell the difference between £150 leather bag and synthetic £20 one if it doesn't have a designer name on the outside. So probably ok.

Has anyone seen any white, mid-calf gypsy skirts?
I've seen loads of colours, but no white ones.
Perhaps they are just too last season, dahling. But one would go perfectly with my new boots....
    Anyone?

I understand your lust - my mum has an absolutely gorgeous one that is just too small for me :( Breaks my heart!

... but I think I might be sick of london now!!!
Went down there with a big shopping trip in mind... and towards the end of the day, I was weather beaten, bought nothing and had a massive headache... I was exhausted.
There were too many people, I had to walk everywhere... up and down the roads, it was cold and I couldn't see anything I liked ANYWHERE. The shops are too big and there is too much stuff... my head would go  from me being in any shop for 5 minutes!
And dare I say it, but Selfridges was total poo as well. All the SA's I spoke to were so rude and totally up their own arse... and what is it with 7 SA's in the gucci here concession for such a tiny little part of the shop??? One of them also had a go at me for stepping slightly behind the counter!
I think i've been out of the city too long... whenever I go to bluewater, everything is under one roof, it's easy to get to you can park for free... so much more easy going and I usually get everything I need as well. Cambridge is nearer to me and it's pretty good there too.
Does anyone else feel like this about London?
    Answer:
I understand totally. I dont do shopping in London, it does my head in!
    Answer:
    Yingers, I agree.
I went shopping in London on Friday. I find myself overwhelmed with too much to look at. Top Shop on Oxford Circus just sends me in to a spin and I wander round in a daze.
I went to Selfridges too, to try on some jeans but the queues for the fitting rooms were so long it I ended up spending most of my time just standing in the queue!
I know it's a funny time of year to be shopping as the spring stuff isn't really in yet, and it's just the dregs of the sales, so maybe that had something to do with it, but after four hours on Oxford Street I had a stinking migrane and had to go to bed!
I've never been to Bluewater but maybe I should try it sometime! I have come to the conclusion that I should only shop online, - now queues, no crowds and plenty of time to brouwse. But the only annoyance with that is that you can't try things on, so I end up buying stuff and I'm not very good at sending things back so I end up selling things on ebay three months later... at a loss.
    Answer:
I was totally peed off with shopping in London over the New Year.
In fact, I'm totally peed off with shopping full stop. I went into York on Saturday with Mr Curls and I was complaining that I had to go shopping  I'm sick of the sales, I'm sick of the crowds, I'm sick of the rain, sick of walking round everywhere and not being able to find anything, sick of horrible shop assistants who think their f'ing god or something - you're a bloody shop assistant get over yourself - at least I can afford to buy the stuff you're selling (although I have to say the ones in York on Saturday were all lovely ;) )
    Answer:
    Hi Yingers,
Sorry you had such a bad time. I can't stand shopping at the moment, but that's beacuse it's the fag end of the sales and there's not new stuff yet!
I absolutley love London as a whole, but it can be exhausting.
I had a similar experience with rude SAs this weekend. I went for a potter around Westbourne Grove and found the assistants (everywhere except Paul and Jo and Diptyque) really really rude. Joseph was the worse with these horrid Italian girls. I was trying on 7s and worrying about sizing / stretch factor. I do think (thanks to here) that I know a lot about 7 jeans and I also know I'm not alone having had them stretch a stupid amount in the past. Anyhow when I asked how much I could expect particular sizes to stretch she told me they didn't. I said yes they do and she said no you must have stretched them beyond stretching point  when I explained this wasn't the case she said I must have washed them wrong. When I explined that this happened before I washed them she just rolled her eyes.
    What a silly condescending bi**h.
I was really angry as I've lived in Nottinghill for years and feel that unless you a Gucci clad Italian tourist no one even botheres to help you in shops that I (rather than the tourists who happen to be there for one weekend only) regularly shop at.
Any how rant over and bestest sympathies Yingers.
    Mimi x
