Interview attire
Ok, I know that people ask about this all the time but I am in need of help! Really all I'd like t oknow is where I can look online for some nice interview/work type clothes.
I have an interview for medical school later this month and really don't know what to wear. I'd appreciate it if anyone had links to sites with nice formalwear... but I don't really want a suit.... I'm thinking maybe a skirt, boots and a wrap cardigan? I need a smart skirt though. Thanks anyone...

Answer:
DP, MS Limited Edition, Topshop, Warehouse and Miss Selfridge all have either work wear skirts, boots and wrap cardies, so between these sites you should be able to find what you're looking for.

Fashion Baggers A-Z
NO.2. ask :
Fashion Baggers A-Z
Hello,
I thought it might be fun to create an A-Z of people on this forum. I've started doing it off the top of my head so I know I'll have missed people out and I really do apologise for that.
If you copy and paste it when you the add those I've missed, hopefully we'll get a comprehensive list of everyone on here.
I realise you probably think I'm a bit of an anal freak and you'd be right - I'll be ecstatic if we get someone for every letter.
Apologise for any misspellings.
Best Wishes,
Mimi x

I can't ever remember seeing a name beginning with X or Z - since we've got plenty of 'Gs' perhaps the time has come for the geek_kitten to rename herself...

Gap Left Weave
NO.3. ask :
Gap Left Weave
Hello,
Has anyone bought / tried any of these jeans yet? I tried some on on my way home last night and they were very comfy and a great fit (I tried super low rise) my only fear is that as with all Gap jeans they'll expand massively and I'll be gutted.
Also if anyone spots a pair of US 2s / UK 6 in Long length somewhere in central London could you let me know - they only had them in a regular length which was wierdly short even on my diminutive 5'4 1/2 inches!!
Mimi x
Answer:
I tried these on last week!
They were super soft, but they didn't have size 2/6 in long length either. I tried on every style/colour in the hope that one pair might be long enough, but sadly not. :(
I asked the SA if they had any and he went off to look, but came back saying they didn't have them. I know that in the normal long and leans they don't make small sizes in the longer leg length which makes me so mad. I hope that's not the case with the left weave because I really want a pair.
Answer:
Im going to Gap at Cheapside tonight to get myself a pair I will have a look for you...
Answer:
Arnie it's frustrating isn't it and the 2/6 regulars were noticeabley a lot shorter than the 4/8s. They must presume smaller people have really short legs - I'm not even that blimmin tall!
1001 - that would be so kind - thank you.
Mimi xx
Answer:
Anyone got a link to these jeans on the website as I don't know what you're talking about... but I like the sound of these shorter jeans as even gap 'ankle' jeans are sometimes slightly too long on me.
I'm also concerned that these jeans are super soft... by all accounts (except mine) alot of people find that Gap jeans lose their shape and bagg real easy? Surely this type of denim would be even worse for that?
What do you think?
7FAMK @ Costco
NO.4. ask :
7FAMK @ Costco
I thought I would post this FYI... was in Costco with my sister and they had genuine 7FAMK jeans in there.
I audited them all over ( :o ) and they seem genuine as far as I can tell... they even had the same barcoded white label on the inside with all the product info on them (exactly the same as on all the ones i've seen in the shops).
They were the NYD washed indigo and were about £85 including VAT. I know people can find them cheaper on ebay... but I thought it was better than paying £135 from Fenwick or selfridges anyway.
However, shopping in Costco is only good if you have one near you and if you know someone that is a member also.
Answer:
That's pretty good. I think it costs £20 for a membe r of the public to join costco, and if you'd use it for other stuff then it'd be worthwhile.
Answer:
wandered in to Costco today and saw the jeans but before i shell out £90 - are they any good or is it just the label that you're paying for in which case i won't bother plus i wasn't sure about the size. i know they take stuff back but don't to go through the palava of it.
Answer:
 what branch was this????
Answer:
Annanas answer my question and i'll tell you which branch ;)
Office wear??? Please help!
NO.5. ask :
Office wear??? Please help!
Hi ladies
I'm starting a big new job in a big firm couple of weeks, and am going shopping tomorrow for some "power" clothes. I've never really had a 'proper' job, having only just graduated and only worked in call centres to get me through uni where pretty much anything goes.
The dress code is "smart business casual", but I want to make a good impression and want to start as I mean to go on - by dressing smartly.
I don't really have much of a clue what I should be looking for - can anyone give me any ideas? Pictures would be great!
Thanks - I need some inspiration!
Answer:
Hi
I recently got a new job too and had a bit of a spree!! I think Oasis is great at the moment and Zara is another good place for workwear.
Do you have to wear a full suit? Here are a few of the things i got, if you do need a suit there are loads of pieces to match.
These trousers are really great on and are a lovely fabric.

You can also see the jacket and skirt, the skirt is also really nice on. You can cover the high waistband with certain items or alternatively show it off with something tucked in.
I also got this tank top which is cute over a white t-shirt or else a blouse. It also looks great with red under it. They have lots of nice shirts and tops in there.

I got this top in a few colours too, its a good shape and fit with nice details:

You could also maybe go for a nice shift dress, they can look great for work.
I've also read on here that loads of people rate LK Bennet for workwear.
Good luck :)
Answer:
thanks fashionaddict! those trousers look good.
I'll definitely have a look in oasis tomorrow. I don't have to wear a full suit all the time, but I think I should get one for client meetings?
Im not sure this is a very good description - but I want some wide leg, almost tweed(?) material trousers? Im not sure tweed is the right material/description, but do you know what I mean?
Answer:
Mexx do really good trousers... they've got a concession in my local HoF
Answer:
Hi there.
Just been on River Island and they have some gorgeous shirts and blouses under the tops section that would probably be perfect. I can't copy and paste the links as it's a flash website so I can't link anything other than the main website. River Island
Wide Leg Trouser - Smart Trousers - Jeans and Trousers - Topshop
Above link is some nice trousers from Topshop. They also have quite afew work, smart style trousers so it's worth a look on there.
