New here from Harrods
Hi ladies
Please can I ask you for some advice - I've just landed a fab new job in the city and my lovely hubby has said he'll treat me to a new here from Harrods as a well done!
I'm chuffed to bits but don't know where to start in terms of choosing one - so I'm hoping you guys can point me in the right direction!
I'd like one which I can keep for years so perhaps black and relatively classic, but still trendy! Also I know some of them are really big and heavy so I'd probably prefer one which is a bit smaller but big enough to get all my bits and bobs in!
Any advice very gratefully received!

Answer:
You lucky thing, what a lovely hubby you have!
A mulberry is always a classic investment - I'd go for a bayswater if it were me but that may be a bit large for you.
There are a few here and the mulberry site is very good for getting ideas.
Answer:
Thanks - I think Mulberry might be a nice idea too, or a friend suggested that a black Marc Jacobs one would be a good one to keep for years without going off it. So excited about choosing one!! :D
Answer:
Congratulations on the job!!:) I would agree with the mulberry as they are a classic and very elegant, However I also like balanciaga twiggy or first bag as a work bag?? leather bags are the better option compared to designer prints etc as they will not date as much. Hope you get sorted and good luck in the job! x
Answer:
Congratulations on the new job - and on the GREAT sounding husband! :great:
I'd go for a classic black Marc Jacobs Stam. They're not particularly heavy, are IMO classic, large enough to get a ton of stuff in and they look good with smart outfits. Plus of course, they're beautiful heres. Lucky you :)
Ordered this wrap dress yesterday...
NO.2. ask :
Ordered this wrap dress yesterday...
...after going into Debenhams and the SA being completely unhelpful in trying to get this in my size (last week when I went in there were about 10 dresses there, and yesterday there was only 2!!), I came home and looked on the website - and the dress was there, in my size!!
I ordered it there and then - good job I did, 'cos for some reason, I checked my size was still in stock after I'd placed the order, just to check a mistake hadn't been made, and a message came up saying they were out of stock!! Hope that doesn't mean a mistake has been made and I don't get my dress... I did get an e-mail confirmation that my order was being processed, so I'm sure there's no problem - hopefully... (I've just checked the site again and it seems they're back in stock...!)
Anyway, here's the dress - zoom in for a better view (if it lets you) - I personally don't think the picture does it much justice - bargain at £35 - hope you like it! :yay: I'll mostly be wearing it with my tan boots I think.

Chocolate peeptoe shoes!
NO.3. ask :
Chocolate peeptoe shoes!
Hi guys,
I was hoping you could help me find a pair of shoes that i have in my minds eye, but cant find anywhere!
I want them to be chocolate brown peep toe courts in a suedeish material (anything not shiny).
The shape should be similar to this
but with a normal heel rather than a wedge.
Has anyone seen anything like this anywhere?
Thankyou,
Anna*
Answer:
I can't say I've seen them anywhere, but the first place I'd look is Faith.
Answer:
I'd second Faith, they've had a lot of suede peeptoe shoes in lately. I saw a pair just as you described in the sale actually, but I doubt they have any left by now.
Still worth a look though. :)
Answer:
Thanks guys, will pop into towm on my lunch and check Faith out. I had a look online, but there wasn't much in the way of peeptoe shoes.
I'll let you know how i get on!
Thanks,
Anna*
Answer:
Carvela do chocolate brown peeped two shoes with a kitten heel. They aren't suede though. They are a similar material/pattern to the ones you posted a link to.
Copycat
NO.4. ask :
Copycat
I must admit to having a copy of a Luella bag however I don't suppose for one minute anyone would notice this a I believe it is the way you hold yourself and what else you are wearing when it comes to hiding the fake label one has.
Does anyone else admit to having a few odd fakes around clothes included? Do you feel you can get away with it , are there some people that simply can't carry it off?
Answer:
You only have to look at dear Colleen MacLaughlin (or however you spell it) to see that lots of designer gear does not equal style.
IMO It's ALL about the way you wear it.
Where do you shop for jeans??
NO.5. ask :
Where do you shop for jeans??
Hi All
A friend has just asked me "where to shop for jeans". I'm normally a next girl, so cannot really offer her much advice. She doesn’t mind spending up to £100 for a good pair of jeans. She doesn’t want hipsters and not jeans on the waist. Sort of in between if you get my meaning. Also a boot leg cut. So who better to ask the hangbag legends?
Thanks in advance
Answer:
Gap Long and Leans??? Although they've had mixed reviews - I love mine but I know some baggers have been disappointed with them. Or, of course, the favourite bootcut FAMKs.
Answer:
The most popular seem to be 7FAMK, but I'm afraid I can't bring myself to spend over £100 on jeans! I've been to Next for jeans, which have been great for £25 - but my new jeans are my absolute favourite - low rise (but not too low!) stretch bootcut, whiskered indigo from Oasis - £40! Great colour and fit - love 'em!! :yay:
Gap will probably get a good vote too.
Answer:
i wear those jeans netti, the very dark indigo ones from oasis. i love the pockets and they make my bum look nice and shapely, well , according to OH!
am saving up for some Joey True Religion jeans i really love the longer look back pockets and the reviews are good from HB's on here. I would head to HN or selfridges for them.
Answer:
I like Oasis jeans as well - they are in eth £35 fo £45 range.
Just bought my first pair of 7FAMK from Selfridges (£140!) so a bit out of price range! However, plenty of people have got them for much less from ebay (I'm too chicken, but working on it!) so maybe she could go to somewhere liek Selfridges or Harvey Nics, try on the ones she likes and then try on ebay? Sushiflower annanas are a couple of people on here who probably know some sellers!
Other than that - Diesel for that price range? Tbh, I find that jeans are either in the £30-60 range or over £100 but I haven't seen much in between!
