Wanted: very-difficult-to-find-bag!
Helloooooooo, first time poster in Fashion :)
I saw a girl on the bus a couple of weeks ago with an (and please excuse my poor description. I really have no idea how to describe it) 'over-the-shoulder-bag'. It was quite small, with a long strap, so the bag is worn across the shoulders (ie. diagonally) and the bag sits at around the hip area. The bag is quite small and white. Instead of the bag being joined together with a zip, it has two pieces of this amazing blue ribbon which allows it to be closed (ie. when both pieces of ribbon are tied together). I'm wondering if anyone has seen this bag around? I'm guessing it's more market-place than 'topshop' but meh, who knows?!
Extremely sorry for abysmal description. I also think i'm highly unlikely to find it, but omg, i want it soooooooooooooooooooo much. I've looked high and low for it!
Cheers!
:D
P.S. i'm based in London

Welcome Mimsy :)
Radley do lots of 'body bags' as they're called, you can either wear them as a shoulder bag, or across the body, but I've never seen one that fastens with a ribbon.
I'll keep an eye out for you when I go shopping this afternoon, but must admit I've never seen one like that.

Longline 'dressy' vests
NO.3. ask :
Longline 'dressy' vests
I seem to be living in longline vests and skinnies at the moment and would like some slightly dressier ones, maybe metallic, that I could wear on an evening. There's this one from TS but it looks slightly scary  or this one which might be nice. Has anyone seen these irl or seen any other nice ones anywhere?
Answer:
River Island had some with sequinned panels on the front recently.
Answer:
Thanks OJO, think I'd prefer plainish ones but maybe metallic if that's not asking too much!
Answer:
In the KM topshop range there was one of those basic vests, it was cream but had like a gold-ish sheen to it? or might have been gold thread running through it. Either one, it was subtle but very pretty! not on the website at the mo though, maybe just in stores?
Answer:
I like this one:

But its £50:cmdunno: oh and you said plain ones anyway:lol:
Outfit Advice - any ideas?

Outfit Advice - any ideas?
Hi there
I am having my phot taken for the cover of a magazine next week (just trade press) with some other people and am having dilemmas over what to wear. I think I should look professional, so maybe a suit, but want to stand out, so was thinking of maybe a very bright shirt. I have dark hair and am small, so would be good not to get lost in the crowd.
Can anyone help?
L x
Answer:
Sounds good! Make sure that the shirt/blouse flatters your skin tone as well as being an eye-catching colour, and consider the use of accessories; as you're petite, a scarf would be too fussy perhaps, but a bold necklace would help draw the eye towards your face.
What's the publication? We'll all have to order a copy!:)
Answer:
That's a good tip - am going to have a look at the shops now and see if I can find anything. Am thinking that emerald green that has been everywhere, but sod's law we are coming into summer and all the greens seem to have gone pastel.
The mag is Media Week....
Answer:
Keep us posted on what you find, and wow - Media Week? What do you do?!?
x
Answer:
I am not sure whether you are going to be head+shoulders,or as part of a crowd, but you could get a few pointers off other magazine covers to see what stands out about them-if it is as part of a crowd, posture will probably have as much to do with whether you look good or not.If its a close up,as Happy Cat says, make sure the colour is flattering to you,and the collar of your top is not too complicated!
Kurt Geiger bag
NO.5. ask :
Kurt Geiger bag
hi
I want to buy the gold leather/sequin bag by KG thats shown on page 143 in Feb's issue of Elle. However, I cannot get to a KG until next thursday night but in true PV fashion i want it and i want it NOW. do you ladies know of any websites that stock KG bags, so maybe i can buy it online? I've had a look at the KG website but i cannot see it on there. Or maybe i'm just not looking hard enough  i'm very tired today..
can you help make a sad PV happy! (had row with stupid drunken boyfriend who came in with loud friend and decided to blast kasabian which woke me and my daughter up. I told them in no uncertain terms to do one. Harumph. Men  )
Answer:
Oh poor you PV. My boyfriend does this regularly although it's only me he wakes up and never on a "school" nite  - he's so sorry the next day and usually buys me something really nice to placate me but at the time I could happily stove his head in with an iron!
Anyway, why don't you give KG a call and ask them if they'll send it to you by mail order? I did this with a bag I saw in Russell Bromley once and they did it no problem, just charged me a fiver for postage. I expect their contact details are on their website. Hope you make it up with drunken boyfriend! ;)
Answer:
hi toosh
thats a fab idea i'll give them a call as soon as i can. thanks. why didnt i think of that
at the moment i dont want to talk to boyf for at least a week! can you believe the cheek I'm the one thats woken up by the juvenille giggling and loud music yet he's the one thats in a huff and ignoring me???!
Maybe i 'called into question' his masculinity by shouting at him in front of his friend but WTF i rarely lose it - pillows were thrown down the stairs and EVERYTHING last night. Pah. I really am mad:mad:
Answer:
Oh no!!!!!
Luckily Mr Toosh is always very remorseful - although he did get a bit humpy when I punched him in the face and he fell half way down the stairs!!! :o Understandable I suppose! I've lost count of the times I've stomped into my lounge at 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 in the morning (usually looking delightful in mint or peach missmatched pj's) and told all his friends to do one. I'm sure they think I'm a bit weird as all their girlfriends are about 12 and practically mute!
I hope you get it sorted soon - it's horrible when you row with your other half. Let me know how you get on - the bag sounds lovely, I'd like to see it! ;)
Answer:
LOL Toosh and sympathies PV.........
On many occassion I've woken up and wondered into the living room on my way into the kitchen to get breakfast and discovered there's a party going on in my flat.
Boys are bloody useless!
As for the here (far more useful) I think Toosh's idea is the best, Kurt Geiger are usually very helpful. Or perhaps you could call a large concession such as Selfridges. Me and the aformentioned boyfriend often get things sent to us from the Birmingham and Manchester Selfredges when they don't have the right sizes in London.
Hope that helps.
Mimi x
