Desperate Times = Desperate Measures
Although I work full-time and have a good wage, I also study 5 nights a week and am paying off a loan for ginormous college fees.
I want to buy some relaly nice items over the next few months that will see me through the next few years.
I want good quality, classic items that won't go out of fashion tomorrow.
I'm currently a PA, I'll be back in college full-time in a two years and then I'll be working as a Barrister (hopefully!), so I need clothes to fit around that type of lifestyle (not asking for much, am I??? )
Anyway, all ideas would be most gratefully received. I have a couple of my own, but once I've decided what to get I'm going to print the list off and stick it in my wardrobe and buy one or two pieces a month or more if my finances will allow it.
I'm a size 16, 5'7" with brown hair, pale skin and blue eyes.
Anyway, here is what I have so far, please let me know what you would add.
white cotton shirt from 'Pink'
several cotton t's in black, white, beige, olive green and chocolate brown
some kind of a blazer (help need finding an appropriate one!) to go with jeans and casual clothes
a single breasted mac with hidden buttons and a high collar, preferably in a dull apple green with an empire line waist (I don't think I'll be able to find this!!)
Thanks
Suds

A really nice cut black suit with pencil skirt and also trousers.
You could wear this to work and then split up the items to wear at night or the jacket with jeans ect.
The perfect LBD
that you can dress up or down
good quality leather boots.
again useful to wear out and to work

has anyone used this site?
http://www.vandm.co.uk/default.asp
it called venus and mars and has some fab bags etc.
Answer:
I'd never heard of them... looks pretty good though... I'm on a shopping ban (well sort of) otherwise I would be soooo tempted to buy those Paul smith flip flops!
Refund Question

Refund Question
I returned a pair of boots I bought online from the Shoe Shop website well over a week ago and the refund still hasn't been credited back to my account? How long is normal to wait for a refund from an online store?
Answer:
I did send something back but they were faulty so it didn't take that long. You could always ring up and say you wanted to check that they'd received them back and then ask how long a refund is likely to be.
Answer:
Thanks! I'll leave it another few days and if I don't see the money credited back, I will give them a call.
Answer:
Not quite the same, but I bought a pair of shoes from schuh (I'm pretty sure they are the same group or something) and I rung their customer services to complain about some marks and scuffs on the shoe... they didn't have any more stock in my size so they offered me a 20% discount over the phone even without me proving my claim - he said the credit to my account was immediate and the funds appeared the next day.
If I was you, I would call them.
Answer:
Yeah they are the same company Yingers. I'll check my bank account at lunch and if the money still isn't there I'm going to call them.
Any1 got a apir of these???????

Does anyone else have them? i cant be the only one and what are you wearing yours with, i thought jeans, as i have some other boots that arent fluffy that i do this with!
This must be the maddest thing that i have ever brought though
Answer:
I have a pair similar. They're only furry on the upper part though. The foor part is suede. And theres laces that wrap around criss-cross. I wear them same way as I wear uggs, with jeans, denimn mini, floaty knee lenght skirt etc. Mine used to get wierd looks on the street. But wouldn't ya know it, they're all over the place now.
Answer:
rosie_cheekx, are yours from River Island? I have two pairs of the River Island boots, one beige and one white. I usually wear them with jeans. And I've also seen quite a lot of people around wearing them.
Answer:
no - they're not river island. Can't even rem the name of the shop I bought them in. I thought I'd found the answer to my uggs problem (ie they're so common now!) But 2 months after I had mine they popped up in river island, and they're everywhere now!
