Black Wrap Dress - Help!!!!
Hi Guys,
I have just got myself a black wrap dress. It comes just below the knee and is sleeveless. It looks lush worn as a dress but i would like to funk it up a little and wear it with jeans and maybe4 add some accessorise. But i have no idea what - please help!!!!
PS: Im 5ft 3 - am i too little to do the dress/jeans thing??

Answer:
No youre not too little :) Try cropped jeans with wide turn ups and sexy black boots with big silver jewellry, or with a pastel cardi and ballet pumps with a big belt for day time :)

Re: Black Wrap Dress - Help!!!!
Well, I'm only an inch taller and wear dresses over jeans quite happily!
If it comes to just below your knees, I'd actually avoid cropped trousers with turn-ups because it could make you look smaller (it does on me anyway). Instead I wear long bootcut jeans with heels. FP's suggestion of big silver jewellery sounds cool. I'd also try a chunky belt or fun scarf tied round your waist. Wrap dresses are so versatile - you can cute them up (pretty cardi and pumps as suggested), add a little vampiness with spiky heels and a silver chain belt or go for a more western-influenced look with chunky boots and a funky belt.
Hmm, I may have to get myself one of the Primark black ones now!
Hope that helps!

Answer:
Its actually a dotty Ps number. There was a gorgoeus orange/brown patterned one aswell but i thought that would be a bit too daring for my first time!!!
Going to go out and get some funky chunky silver jewellery now and maybe i may treat myself to some new boots!!
Thank you everyone.
More suggestions welcome

    Best Non Stretch Jeans
    hello,
i'm after some comfortable non stretch jeans for spring / summer and i wondered which non stretch lines people recommended. happy to pay whatever ridiculous price they are asking these days.

    Answer:
    Re: Best Non Stretch Jeans
I haven't bought jeans for a while, and when I do it tends to be from random places in the sale, so my knowledge is rather scanty! I also have no notion about more expensive brands - forty quid is my limit :o
Having said all that, I have two pairs of jeans which have never stretched, despite all the abuse they have received. They are a pair of Moto jeans from Topshop (discontinued line, of course!) and a pair from Oasis, which I got from a charity shop (also a safe bet that they're a discontinued line!). How helpful
In general, I've had good experiences with Moto jeans - they may give a bit, and have a tendency to fade, but on the whole they're the best I've found for not stretching.
    Hope that helps a bit!

    Answer:
Hi thanks Geek Kitten - I'll have to come and scour your local charity shops!
I don't mind if they 'give' a bit - I like slightly looser fitting jeans in the summer.
I think I should check out Topshop.

    Answer:
Have to say hon that I LOVE my Earl Jeans (which really randomly I managed to fit into a month and a half after having the baby even though they didn't remotely fit me before:confused: )
The reason I like them is because they're not cut too low on the hips whilst still being hipsters. Plus they don't seem to do that horrendous thing of shrinking after having been watched and then sort of "growing" when you've worn them a couple of times so you get a saggy a*se, if you get my drift!!
As I'm now smaller than before I had the baby, (random - don't ask how!) I've been going mad trying the entire Selfridges range of jeans and the Earl ones were the nicest for me by a long way!

    Answer:
mimicat, do you mean you want denim with no lycra/stretch content at all?
The nicest non-stretch jeans I've ever owned came from apc. They are really nice denim and wear to your shape beautifully. Mine are now perfectly faded and like old friends when I put them on!
the only downside is they are fairly straight legged but look nice turned up with flip flops in the summer.
I think Selfridges has a small selection of apc.

How would you describe your style...
    I am a nosy so-and-so, aren't I? :D
Anyway, this time I'm wondering how you all would describe the way your dress. I have been thinking about this recently because I will be a suit from September and am going to have to tone down my normal look considerably! Expect many threads on capsules wardrobes and finding smart work clothes sometime soon...
I don't think I have a specific style at the moment - I love clothes too much to choose! I guess my style ranges from Sarah Connor Chic (combat trousers, camoflage vests, big boots and shades) to smart and sleek (with an edge) to prim-and-girly (with a twist) by way of funky boho with a dash of eclectic vintage and the occasional sprinkling of Hollywood glamour chunked in for good measure. All completely random, just like me
How about you? There seem to be so many people with a really cool individual sense of style on this board - it would be interesting to see how they describe themselves!

    Edited to correct typos!
    Answer:
Extremely varied is the only way I could describe my style... as I don't think I particularly have a defined one.
I tend to only dress for comfort these days and I always decide what to wear at the time of getting dressed in the morning.
I can wear pretty much what I like to work but try to be smart-casual with it.
I love wearing different colours and I have lots of pretty and unusual things to brighten up a boring outfit though... that's more my thing.
    Answer:
    STUDENT
Yep that about sums it up :D
    Answer:
    Describe your style....
Classic with a bohemian quirky twist (or summat like that!)
    Answer:
    With great difficulty!
Work is very boring - bootcut troos, plain jumpers and tops, knee-length a-line skirts.
The best way I can describe my out of work style is generally quite classic with a few high fashion pieces thrown in. I suppose it edges more on the side of girlyness and I've tended to wear the same shapes and colours for a few years now and a lot of my things are "investment buys" and therefore several years old. I tend to stick to things that I know suit me and update with accessories.

    Hello!
I would just like to know whether you buy from etsy.com. It's a shop with handmade items, from jewellery to kitchenware for those of you who haven't heard of it. I have a shop there, mostly jewellery. I won't mention it here though, I don't want you to think I'm advertising.
Just wanted to know whether you all browse it or have made any purchases from there and what do you think of it, in general.
    Thanks!
    Answer:
1 Attachment(s) I like it - some baggers have shops on there (as you know unfortunately they cannot advertise on here), and I shop on there quite often. My last purchase was this bracelet - for only $6!

The only thing I have against it is that it is so big. I use the categories to make it easier to find things but I only go on there if I have lots of time to look someone specifically to look for, or an idea of exactly what I want.
    Answer:
    That bracelet is lovely Puddy!
I find etsy too big to search through too especially if you only have a vague idea of what you want
I've only ever bought one thing from there which was a knitted bag after I saw Casa's on WDYBTW and really wanted one
    Answer:
thanx for your feedback guys!anyone else?
etsy is pretty big but i can suggest looking at "treasuries" makes looking for sth really fun!
    Answer:
    Nice bracelet!!
I've only ever bought 1 thing of Etsy and it was a lovely painting from someone in US I found her shop randomly. I find it to be a big site too and don't really know where to begin. Although just checked out the search options for finding things 'by colour' (which brings things up in any colour it feels like really). Loving searching in the Time Machine.
