does this outfit sound ok?

NO.1. Ask :
does this outfit sound ok?
or a bit too random?
Hi, I'm meeting my bf's parents for the first time  and we are going for a fairly informal meal.
I thought about wearing this... but have reservations as although it's my style I'm not sure whether it'd look a bit wacky to someone who doesn't know me yet (if that makes sense)
Also do these colours go? to me it looks ok, but then anything looks ok to me lol!!!
grey tweed a-line skirt, fairly floaty
brown leather stacked heel rounded toe boots (more almond than round)
brown long length cami under
moss green v-neck angora sweater
with bronze and brown ethnic-y jewellery
does that sound ok? as I'm not sure on the rules of colour, do brown and grey go? and brown and green? Don't want to look like a tree
I have a dusky pink sweater ina similar style, maybe that would work better tahn the green???
thanks :)
eta: will wear tights but unsure on colour... I have nude fishnets, brown fishnets, black fishnets, and chocolate opaques...
Answer:
Sounds lovely to me Cherrydrop, I wear brown and green and I don't look like a tree :p I think the brown and grey is fine as it's broken up with another colour. I'm loving turqouise at the moment and think it looks great with both brown and grey (I suppose that's only a help if you have anything in turquoise :o )
If you feel more comfortable in the pink though wear that :)
Good luck :D
Answer:
I think it sounds fine, as long as you feel confident that's the main thing! You should dress in your style, they should see the real you.
Hope it all goes well.
Answer:
That outfit sounds gorge to me, i think grey/brown/green go together as they're all earthy colours, and bronze jewellery sounds more appropriate than silver or gold. I'd wear plain nude tights as patterned ones can make a stylish outfit look fussy but whatever reflects your personality is bound to be best. Good luck meeting the parents! :)

    Animal print?!
Am I the only one who is still amazed that anyone wants to wear anything with an animal print design on it?! From bikinis to coats - ladies, please! Save it for grab a granny night! A model wearing a 'fashion' does not automatically make it either a) desirable or b)wearable. Remember the old adage: try before you buy ;)

    Answer:
i love some animal prints, personally! i wore my leopard print tights out last night and got a few positive comments too

    Answer:
I love it too! Especially leopard print. Its kind a kind of cool trashy look that I like, and I feel good on a night out in a bit of leopard:p
    Answer:
Love all animal prints :D !!! But I am very selective about what I buy in them.

    Primark goodies
any of you gals with a primark near you, theyre selling the most gorge crochet dresses in there at the mo, for the bargainous price of £10! couldnt decide which colour, so got them all heh heh. choc brown, coffee tan, and cream. perfect for work (well, for me and my job as its quite informal) and they look great for over jeans too! short sleeve, v-neck, with a drawstring around the hip area to ruche. did initially think they wouldnt be too flattering but if anything they make me look thinner as the crochet seems to hide my tummy!
    had to share x
    Answer:
Great, they sound really nice, will have to look out for these. Thanks. :)
    Answer:
You beat me to it, PV!
I got one yesterday and love it - I was going to post to let everyone know about them.
There's loads of fab stuff in Primark at the moment - I may have to go back in the very near future. I am *so* becoming a shopaholic. Bad, very bad.
    g_k
    Answer:
I've been wondering this for a while now, are Primark stores a southern thing like Waitrose used to be? because we don't have one near us and I've never even seen one. I'm so jealous! They sound like they sell amazing stuff and so cheap too! xx
    Answer:
Theres a a store locator for Primark on here. To be honest I don't really like Primark very much. It all looks a bit cheap and I've never seen anthing that I like. The dress sounds nice though, does anyone have a picture?

    NO.4. ask :
Work Trousers - Leg Lengths - Help Please!
Just wondering if anyone can help me! I'm about 5ft 2 and looking for some work trousers - ideally I'd like to get a few pairs, or at least find a place where I can continually buy some from.
The problem is the leg lengths - so many lovely trousers just come in one leg length and it's too long for me (unless I'm wearing heels). I have a couple of pairs that are longer but I hardly ever wear them because I walk to work and live in flat shoes/flip flops.
My problem is that petite trousers are too short - not by a mile but to me it's quite noticable and I think they're just a wee bit too short. I reckon I need about a 30 but probably more 31 inch length.
I found a pair in New Look, but apart from there I just cannot find anywhere to buy nice work trousers in different leg lengths (I think the normal length they come in is about 33 inches). I have tried all the shops I can think of.
The only other place - Dotty Ps - they seem to have quite a limited selection and I always find the crotch too long! :o
Anyone have any ideas please?! I would be eternally grateful!
    Thanks :)
    Answer:
Miss Selfridge and Topshop do different lengths. Or why don't you go to Zara or Mango and get them altered? I'm just an average height and get loads of my work trousers from those two- it only takes 3 working days.
    Answer:
    Gap trousers are quite short
Oasis do varying lengths (I've got a long pair to go with my suit jacket - although they had to be ordered in)
Marks and Sparks do various lengths in most trousers - worth sifting through the frump
    Next
Standard length is 31'' i think in most shops (i'm 33"+ and have to prowl for longer lengths)
    Answer:
I'm taller than you but not massively, TS and Miss S both do petite ranges...

  • HM longer tops

    NO.5. ask :
    HM longer tops
Not sure if anyone has posted about this before, but for those looking for longer tops for layering, etc... they have some really good ones in HM at the moment.
I bought 2 lace trim cami type ones to wear under wrap cardigans and jumpers... they were quite thin but that's what I wanted anyway, I could never wear them on their own.
They also had some long sleeve tops and cap sleeve ones too... they were all £4.99 or less and came in looooads of colours.
    Answer:
    :great: bargain!
    Answer:
Oooh thanks :D Have been looking for some of them
    Answer:
Brilliant thanks, will HM on the schedule for next week's trip to Reading.
    Answer:
I looked today, but couldn't find many. I bought 2, but they weren't overly long. I wanted one in pale blue and they had every colour but.
