Trinny Susannah me ..
Hello fashion people. I've only recently discovered this forum and have been lurking, but would now like to ask your fashion advice as you seem to be a friendly bunch.
When i look in the mirror, i can't be objective about my appearance, all i see is the bits i don't like. So through the wonders of a digital camera and photo-editing software ....
me - identity removed to protect anyone that might know me
Can somebody tell me if i've got a short/long neck, short/long waist, short/long legs etc. etc. (i'm about 165cm and weigh about 60kg)
Answer:
hi vaio, and welcome to here. :yay:
you look like you've got a bloody excellent figure if you ask me?!
you've got a nice womanly shape without being so hour-glass that it would affect what you could wear. looking at the picture, you seem to have quite a long back so you can even this up by wearing higher heels to make the legs look longer - you can never have legs that are too long, imo ;) same with the neck - yours looks fine (unlike mine, when i wear dangly earrings they can graze my shoulders!) but follow TS's tips for elongating the neck anyway - fashion designers always illustrate with very long, languid lines.
if you're not confident about how your body looks in clothes, the most important thing you can do is get professionally measured (so *not* at MS or debenhams) for a bra that fits you really well.
it took me years to do this and i only wish i'd done it earlier!
Answer:
I agree, great figure you have, looks like you have a longer body and shorter legs (they're not short but you know what I mean) so would need things to make your legs look longer such as wide palazzo pants, dresses over trousers, layered tops and longer jackets, avoiding cropped trousers short waisted tops and jackets. You have quite a long neck I would say.
Like happiness factory said, a great bra and you will look fab!
Pashmina question
NO.2. ask :
Pashmina question
i bought several pashminas in Thailand and although they are lovely they are really fragile - i somehow got a piece of velcro stuck to one on the way home and it has pulled it to bits - another one i ran over with my chair in the office and again has pulled......okay so they were cheap, but how can i make sure future ones are more hard-wearing?
Answer:
I prefer ones that are silk and cashmere mix, it makes them less fragile and makes me less likely to worry about damaging them, they still are incerdibly soft, just more hard wearing.
Answer:
Pay more? ;)
My pashmina cost something like £90, it's silk/cashmere and not at all fragile. I've had it two years, treat it like a woollen scarf and it still looks as good as new. :)
Answer:
ekk forgot i posted this!
silk and cashmere mix....eek thats gonna hurt to replicate the 12 current ones!!!
any good recs of places to buy?
Answer:
Hi Manc-Lass
Have a look at the thread posted today by Angie Pangie with a link to Princessa, I've just ordered two 50% pashmina 50% silk for £14.50 each - half price - bargain!

GUCCI experts: is this real??
NO.3. ask :
GUCCI experts: is this real??
I came across this change purse on ebay and although it is sold, I wondered if it is real? The buyer of the change purse is selling a gucci bag and I was checking her feedback as to a clue whether or not her bag could really authentic. I'll post both for you Gucci experts to see what you think gucci change purse
and here: authentic???
I have been told that you should ask for receipt etc if someone says its authentic-I have emailed the seller but not heard back yet.
What do you think??
Coolbaby :)
Answer:
They are both fakes,IMO.
Answer:
Those 2 items are definitely fake... that pink purse looks real cheap and nasty and gucci have never done dustbags like that.
As for the bag, that is a real poor copy as the real ones looked nothing like that - they also added a pic of the tag inside the bag, if they really wanted to shift the bag, they would have added a photo of the serial number which is embossed on the other side. This suggests the bag isn't serialised, although you can now find some bags even with fake serial numbers.
Answer:
Neither are authentic.

Advice on what to wear for Birthday
Hiya
I don't normally post on fasion but need some suggestion on what to wear for my 30th Birthday coming up. I'm going out for a meal with the girls.
I've recently lost 2 and half stone and I am now a size 12 bottom and 12/16 tops. I've been all round the shops today and I've come home with these jullian macdonald jeans from debenhams
http://www.debenhams.com/jv/product_...106753992 166
and this camisole top
http://www.debenhams.com/jv/product_...106754853 723
I've got home with them and now I'm not sure, I a little self conscience of my arms and bust, (I'm quite big busted) and was thinking of what jacket that could go with the top. any ideas.
Thanks

Re: Advice on what to wear for Birthday
I would say a black blazer or a black shrug/bolero type thingy :)
Answer:
hello and happy forthcoming birthday! many congrats on losing weight too!
it's a lovely top but if you're feeling uncomfortable in it perhaps it's not quite the right top for you? coupled with the very dark jeans the light print, babydoll shape and flowing fabric could make your figure look out of balance? spaghetti straps are not very forgiving if you're self-conscious about your arms either (they arent on me).
Having said that, being quite curvy I do get fed up of being told by Trinny and Susannah that the only tops I can wear are wrap ones, so if you love the way you look in it forget all the above. (Although I do love wrap tops).
Perhaps a little shrug/bolero or shawl would be a cute cover up though, if you love it but just need a little dutch courage to feel comfortable in it!
Answer:
I think it's a lovely outfit :)
You could try a pretty velvet jacket over the top if you wanted - purple would look nice - or a bolero or shrug, as others have suggested. A pashmina or wrap (perhaps in hot pink!) is another option.
g_k
Answer:
I think it's a really cute outfit and you should definitely wear it. You should be so proud of yourself losing the weight and your birthday is your night and your chance to show and be the centre of attention (well that's what I think!!)!
I think a bolero or shrug will work really well if your very conscious of your arms, but I'm sure it'll look great without.
I second all the blazer suggestions - that way you don't have to relinquish it as soo as you get in if it's a bit cold. Anything a bit bulkier might look a bit daft inside!
Whatever you decide have a great birthday (it's mine on the sixth!)

green dragonfly brooch??
NO.5. ask :
green dragonfly brooch??
I know someone here (with our combined walth of 'fash' expertees) can help me... ?
I'm looking for a green dragonfly brooch
I had a lovely one from oasis, which I lost bcos the fastener was rubbish and then repurchased and lost again, around october time.
My prediction is that butterflies etc are gonna be huge this season, but I like dragonflies better (methinks they're more elegant) and it needs to be a brooch to spruce up my mint coat, and hold together my wrap tops.
I paid about £7 for the oasis one (which I can't find in any of their stores for love nor money now :sniffles: ) and I'd like to find one not too expensive now third time round.
Any ideas?
Thanx, hb xx
