Unanswered medical symptoms
Hi I was hoping that you could help me. I have been undergoing various symptoms for like close to 7 years now.
It started with digestive distress, the feeling of not emptying fully, like a virus that would not go away. I had a colonoscopy, eventually an upper and lower barium test. Findings were inconsequential, little hiatal hernia. Then also had a endoscope...a little gastritis.
As years have gone on, I have also developed a chronic headache pain/pressure above my left eye...went to ENT, had sinus surgery, was not the answer. STill have this pressure now, and it often gravitates to the top of my head. Also have pressure at the bridge of my nose as well as the eyes.
IT feels like a sinus problem sort of should feel like, but it is not.
Also often drained, fatigued, very difficult to get up in the AM.getting lethargic (sounds like depressive symptoms but think they are caused by-related to physical symptoms)
Also had some experiences with pre-syncope, when feeling tired and drained.
Heart was checked, again ok. Doc said to lie down if symptoms came on.
Wondering if my digestive problems are causing the above, by not getting rid of the toxins? IN any case, I am not living my life, just existing in it.
Appreciate any help.

Hi bweg,
From the testing you have had and the surgery it sounds as if nothing has really been found to account for your ongoing symptoms. Has your Dr. done basic Lab work to check things? Have you been to a neurologist for an examination of your chronic headache? What other testing does your Dr. feel is necessary?
Seven years is a long time to have symptoms , not to mention the tests and sinus surgery which you feel has not helped. You mentioned depression and many physical symptoms come along with depression esp. sleep distrubances, no energy. Has your Dr. mentioned to you , you could be depressed or put you on any medications for such? Often when no physical causes for your sypmtoms are found depression can be diagnosed by the Dr. Please follow up with him and see who he thinks you need to see for a diagnosis. Ask him if he feels it could be depression and if a psychiatrist or psychologist could help you.
There are many medications for depression which can help if such be the case. Best wishes and do keep us posted.

Thank you Purple Lady for answering so quickly. I had an MRI of the head, no contrast, and thyroid tests from an Endocrinologist. Everything was normal.
Yes, it has been a long time, and I am frustrated....my primary Internist wanted me to try antidepressants, but scared to go on them...I am still convinced I have an underlying physical problem, because I know my physical body. I feel I am not misleading myself, but the medical tests that I have taken never show anything of significance.
I'll see.........any other advice will surely be appreciated.
