Ask:
discharge from clitoral area
I am 41 years old, I have a white odorless discharge coming from the clitoral or urethral area. (not sure which, but it's not vaginal) I had itching and irritation and raw skin around the outer vulva around this area. I assumed it was yeast so I have been applying Monistat cream for the past few days and it has helped the irritation itching and raw skin, but the discharge remains. Same sexual partner for many years. There is no pain or irritation with urination or clitoral stimulation. Would Canesten cream work better than the Monistat? Does this sound like yeast or something else, that I should see my doctor about? The only medication I am on is Lamictal (Lamotrigine) for bipolar and I am still increasing the dosage weekly at this time (currently at 150mg/day split in 2 doses). I don't believe yeast is a side effect from this medication, but maybe it is? Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I guess it could be a yeast infection but if your symptoms don't improve with over the counter medications in a weeks time, it would be wise to to see your GYN.
