Ask:
5 year daughter "stressed out"
my daughter has had 2 episodes both in the morning when she is very limp and non-responsive. She starts to gag and her lips turn blue. Her eyes don't focus and she will not talk. These episodes last for 30 minutes-to 1 hour. I've called an ambulance once and they gave her oxygen and sent her home within 30 hour of being at the hospital. They didn't do any tests of any kind. The explanation they gave me was that it was stress related and normal for children to react this way to stress. Is this anything I should worry about?

Hello,
I find it hard to believe they didn't do anything in a emergency room for an unresponsive child. Had the episode passed by the time she arrived there? This could be very serious esp. the gagging with regards to her airway. I would go to your Dr. asap and have her examined and inform him of these blackouts/seizures whatever they may be. I never heard of stress doing this in a child. Are you telling us everything? What kind of stress? Have your child see by your Dr. and for appropriate referral to a specialist. Good Luck

The episode HAD passed before she got to the hospital. They gave her oxygen in the ambulance but no other tests were run when she got there. We were getting ready to move out of state when she had these. The 2 episodes happened about a month a part and it's been about 7 months since her last one.
