Ask:
Negative TUDS Test
I need an answer please. I went to the doc's on the 19th and like usual when I arrived I asked the asst. for a cup for urine.I am a 47 year old woman who takes several meds daily (Ativan,Paxil,Topamax,Oxycodone and Atennalol) well I asked the doc for my scripts and he came back and said he wanted to check my urine 1st (my reg doc is out of the office right now so it was a diff doc) so anyway I said go ahead I already gave a sample. Now when I had gone I had maybe only 10 drops in the cup.(Not knowing if this made a difference)Well he came back and he called me a LIAR right to my face and said that my test came back negative for everything?I do not understand how this could be so I said I wanted another test.I have been on pain meds for nearly 7 years and Atuvan for 5 years and I do trake them daily. The following day I went back to the office because I hadnt slept al night because I am so upset over this matter.(Doc only gave me enough meds for 10 days btw and then told me I was being sent to an addiction doctor lol) I said why would I need that if there is nothing in my urine?I am so confused here and dont know what to do?So I go back to the office and ask to see my urine test results from the day before. The girl hands me 1 paper and it does say negative for all 9 things on it?So I ask her where the 2nd test is and she says thats all she has.I question this and she says well thats boths tests together on same paper?I dont believe that.I think 2 diff tests should have 2 diff paper results? Then I notice it says Date Drawn is 6/20/07 and Date Rec:6/19/07 Now I am really confused. How could they draw my urine on the 20th but rec on the 19th? And I gave the sample on the 19th?Please help me as I have only 10 days worth of medication now and I know I am going to be very very sick when this runs out.

Negative TUDS Test
Hi patchess,
It sounds like you're in a really tough situation. I don't know what advice I could offer except to try and talk to the doctor and explain the situation. Dealing with controlled substances such as oxycodone can be a real sticky situation, especially with the DEA cracking down on physicians for over prescribing narcotics. A negative test result might concern them because of the possibility of selling the meds. Best of luck on getting this resolved. Keep us posted on how you're doing.
