severe upper abdominal pain
its probably best i start from the beggining! i had a cold about 2 weeks ago, followed on by coughing up flem about 5 days ago.
since then for about 3 days ive had really bad pain in my upper stomach that comes every half an hour. it feels like labour pains! (im not pregnant!). i have diohrea with this throughout the day and it the night. theres no blood in the diohrea and i havent been sick.
the first doctor i saw said it was just a bug going around. he gave me some antibiotics but these worsened it so i stopped using them.
the 2nd doctor i saw said it was acid, and gave me some gaviscon, but its not helping
also to let you know i had a caesarean operation 11 weeks ago, but i had one previous to that as well and never suffered with this.
does anyone know what this can be, or if not anything i can do to ease or get rid of the pain?
hope you can help!
thanks

Something to ease the pain? Heat, raspberry HERBAL tea, or Poppy herbal tea. I would check with a doctor to make sure you can use Poppies. Heat is good for most pain. Raspberry herbal tea is good for abdominal cramps and pain. Poppy tea is a good pain reliever. Be careful with poppies. Only drink about 6-10 ounces a day. SIP any tea. Don't gulp, it will upset your stomach. You can add sugar or honey to taste without ruining the effectiveness. Also, if your stomach is upset, try peppermint or ginger tea.

I would tend to lean with Gerd and the gaviscan coats the stomach , how long did you try it? Your physician could even change to a different acid medication that may work. Diet, weight and even hiatal hernias influence gerd.
link includes foods and other things to avoid also which may help. Good Luck.
