Ask:
Headache lasting a month
My father has had a major headache for about a month now. At times he can block it out but others he pretty much is miserable. For the last two weeks he's discovered a slight swelling on the right side on the back of his head. This is where the headache is coming from. At night lately he must be very careful how he lies or else he won't be able to sleep if pressure is put on the right side. I would like to know any possible causes and ways to help him.

I can understand the money problem and insurance, but by not going and leaving this unattended some things you can die from, so which is the decision you would want. He can go to an emergency room and work something out for payment, atleast I would try. This could be very serious. Urge him to be seen. Any headache lasting this long and is not relieved by over the counter pain meds needs attention, the soon the better.
Good Luck.
