For the past few months on occasion I was getting sharp pain in my lower rib cage on my right side, I never seen the doctor because it would come and go but for the past week I have also been getting severe pain in my neck and right shoulder blade. this pain also is worse some days but then days like today it seems hard to function because the pain is so intense and it seems no medicine relives the pain. I don't know whether these systems are related but it seems I haven't felt good in a long time. I am planning on making an appointment tomorrow but not sure whether to go to doctor or chiropractor. Hope someone can give me an idea what this is.

I'm happy that you've decided to make an appointment. I definitely recommend seeing a physician - chiropractor is not the right person to make a diagnosis. If this is diagnosed as a musculoskeletal pain, then maybe a good chiropractor can help in some cases, but the initial diagnosis needs to be made by a physician.

Hi I want to thank you for your advice and wanted to let you know that I did visit the doctor who took x-rays that came back normal. But yesterday I had another set back where I started with a mild fever and just felt terrible (pain in chest, chills, very tired) I went back to doctor and he could find nothing wrong with me. I have also been seeing the chiropractor which has not been helping the pain although people tell me that it will take more than 2 treatments. I just want to feel better so that I can enjoy Christmas with my kids. Would all these symptoms be connected?
