PROLONGED SEIZURES
My daughter had seizures twice in 2004. She was 3 then (Now she is 6). On both occassions, it started off with a twitching mouth and then gradually spread to her right limb and leg. It lasted for about 25 minutes each time (It stopped only after the ambulance arrived and treated her). She vomitted on both these occassions.
Apart from that, on a different occassion, she also had a blank stare which lasted for about 1 minute. All the above happened at her bed at about 11:00 pm - the time she normally goes to bed.
She was put on tegretol (5 MLs, twice a day) immediately after the second seizure.
EEG, Scan and MRI tests / diagonosis were carried out and NOTHING abnormal was detected. The doctors could not find out the reason behind this.
She is still on the above medication - but has NOT had a seizure since the last one in August 2004.
Are you able to please help understand what caused these seizure and should we continue with the medication?

I have seizures.....have you seen a neurologist? And I am not a dr........I was a hairstylist and a chef...lol...but ask the doc if she should stay on them....I am on dialantin for life. Along with 13 other pills.........
