Abdominal pain right side

Ask:
Abdominal pain right side
Hi Doctor Joshua, (Or anyone else with an explanation!:)
I'm a 20 year old female, been experiencing random attacks of abdominal pain in my right side now for around 6 years. There doesn't seem to be any particular cause, and the pain sensation varies with each attack as well. Pain can be from my right hip down to my pubic bone, or around my belly button, and sometimes into my back on the right side also. Sometimes its a stabbing, cramp type pain, others a dull ache. Occasionally it is with diarrhea or constipation. I've been to my GPs countless times about it but they say its a reaction to food, yet it happens before i eat and after (no matter what Ive eaten) I am otherwise pretty healthy.
Thanks

Hi Magenta
I'm so sorry about your abdominal pain. This kind of pain when eating, and the bowel symptoms for six years in my mind is just not acceptable. Diverticulitis, or colitis, or food allergies come to my mind but, since I am not a medical professional I cant help you with the cause. I can say I would get another opinion from an Internist. Your too young to have all these symptoms and need to look elsewhere other then a GP. Good Luck to you and welcome to the forum.
