Ask:
Libido
I am a male, single, age 25. I have experienced a strange phenomenon in which during last summer i subjected myself to extreme exertion in hot humid conditions by playing outdoor sports and working out in the gym. This led to considerable loss of weight in a short period. People who meet me after a while always tell me that i have lost a lot in a short period.
Although currently i have regained some weight and visited a nutritionist and she said BMI and weight/height measure were fine around 23-24. But strangely i have experienced loss of libido and slow growth of pubic hair and possibly shrinking testicles. Another forum suggested hormonal disbalance can cause loss of libido.Kindly guide me and suggest a possible remedy & medical tests for complete testerone levels etc...
regards

Hi Jon,
I don't know what is causing your symptoms, but I agree that it could be caused by a low testosterone level. Along with your symptoms, it could also account for the weight lost you experienced. If you took certain supplements while you were working out, they also may be able to explain your symptoms. But there are numerous other possible explanations, so it is important that you discuss them with your doctor. Best of luck, and let us know how it goes.

Yes, you do need to see your doctor about this. A physical examination, history, and some basic labwork is required.
