Ask:
I NEED YOUR HELP! DO YOU KNOW ANYONE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO?
Hey everyone,
I am desperate for help!!!
My sister's friend is 46 years old. Six weeks ago she suffered two mini-strokes for which she was admitted to the hospital. The strokes were diagnosed with an MRI but since her symptoms had passed, she was discharged from the hospital and told to pursue a reason for the strokes on an outpatient basis.
Less than a week later, she had a massive stroke which left her with aphasia. While the doctors ran further tests she was treated with blood thinners.
She suffered another major stroke two weeks later, while still in the hospital. She is now unable to speak. They have increased her dosage of blood thinners but she has now developed blood clots in both her legs. Since the blood is still clotting they decided to change her blood thinner to see if another would be more effective.
Yesterday, just five days after her last major stroke, she suffered two more strokes. She is now on a feeding tube since she loss the ability to control her muscles to swallow. The doctors are at a complete loss for a diagnosis. Her blood is clotting and she is continuing to have strokes and they have yet to nail down a diagnosis. Has anyone ever heard of someone still clotting and stroking while on blood thinners?
Thank you for your help!

Thanks to anyone who may have looked at this and thought to respond but didn't have an answer. She has since been diagnosed. Thank you again.
