Ask:
rapid heart rate
i have always been able to feel my heart and hear it pounding in my ears. about a year ago a chiropractor told me i needed to go the doctor and have my heart checked because it was over 120 bpm. my doctor sent me to the emergency where they said a 24 yr. old needn't worry about a rapid heart rate. so he later had 2 ecg's done which were normal. my blood pressure is always fine usually 110 over 70. however everytime i check my pulse with a moniter it is always over 100. usually it's between 110 and 130. it has maybe twice been in the 90's since i've been checking regularly for the past year. now that i am pregnant i am especially concerned but various other dr.'s have said it's probably nothing to worry about. i am not overweight, don't smoke, and exercise regularly. could i just have a fast resting heart rate or should i be pushing for other tests. are there any complications from having a chronic fast heart rate?
Answer:
rapid heart rate
What you are describing sounds to me like SVT (supraventricular tachycardia). I was diagnosed with this in early March. I had to go to the emergency room, with what felt to me like a heart attack. I have been dealing with this condition all of my life, to my surprise! I now take medication everyday to keep my heart rate down. Like you, I also didn't use to have high blood pressure...but now I do because of chronic back pain. If you want more information about this, go to google and search for SVT. I hope this helps!
