Please, help my father.
I have tried posting this at different Ask Health websites but they all cost money which i cant afford. Finally, here is a forum... THANK GOD.

My father has been sick for a month now. He is around 50 and has never had any problems. A few days ago, me and my father were watching tv. My dad suddenly started chocking and his eyes became big. He looked possessed and looked like he stop breathing. I started shaking him and calling out his name, but no answer. Then, he finally calms down and said that people were beating him up. He said it felt so real. I'm not sure what this is but it could be a servere cause of Sleep Paralysis. About an hour ago, today, my dad was watching tv and i was on the computer. He started to cough. I thought it was only a small cough. Then, he started coughing. I looked at him and his face was red. He wasnt able to catch a breath. I jumped over to him and started banging on his back rigorously. Then, he fell to the ground. he woke up with a bloody nose and i told him what happened. He told me he didnt remember a thing. He joked around saying with a smile, "if you hadnt woken me up, I would have probably died". Please, I dont want my father to die.

It is so scary. When you see your father looking as if he were going to dye. It really hurts.

Hi aznpimpin89,
I'm sorry you and your father are going through this trouble. I know if this happened to any of my family members I would be terrified. The best advice I think anyone can give you at this point is to really urge your father to be seen by a doctor. Its impossible to tell what this is over the internet, and if you feel like your father's health is in jeopardy, then he needs to be seen. Obviously, stopping breathing is a serious concern, so I wouldn't hesitate in taking him to the doctor. You said your father has been sick for a month now. What other symptoms is he experiencing? Best of luck and keep us posted!

Hi aznpimpin89,
As YankeeBeckham points out, it is impossible to make a specific diagnosis over the internet - especially since we really don't know that much about the case. From what you tell, it does sound like your father needs to see a doctor, rather sooner than later.
I think you need to start by talking with your father about your conserns, it is possible that he already knows something you don't (maybe he has had these symptoms before, maybe he has seen a doctor for this, maybe he has some other symptoms as well) and in any case, before seeing a doctor, he needs to want to see a doctor.
Do you think if it would be a bad idea to tell him that you are really worried and that you have tried to seek help for him over the internet?
I quess the second best idea to actually seeing a doctor (if there were some reason that would make seeing a doctor absolutely impossible) could be that he himself would tell more about these attacks in this forum.

K, my father has went to see the doctor. He doesnt have any medical insurance and our family was really worried. Although the appointment costed us $500, but found out what had happened. My dad is an addicted smoker and has been smoking since age 17. The doctor told us that he has bronchitis. Because of the way he was sleeping, he wasnt getting any air and his lungs were closing on him. The doctor provided him with an inhaler.

My father is currently taking AZITHROMYCIN for his bronchitis. I was wondering if it was okay if he take the walgreens brand "Mucus Relief PE". It contains GUAIFENESIN(400MG) and PHENYLEPHRINE HC1(10mg). Is it okay for him to take it while he is taking the AZITHROMYCIN? He has normal blood pressure. Thank you.

Hello aznpimpin89,
Welcome to the forum. I think the best person to answer that is your fathers Dr. He would know his prior medical history and any contradictions with any meds he may already be on.
