Ask:
Should I see a neurologist?
I'm a 45 yo woman and have a history of vertigo, which has never fully been resolved (onset was sudden and approximately 1 year ago). Over the last 3 - 4 months, I began experiencing an upper eyelid twitch predominantly in the right eye, but also in the left. I have always had a droopy right eye lid and noticed that at times when I blinked, it would remain closed a bit longer-- almost as if it was sticking. Over the last 2 months I have been experiencing a twitch in my right cheek as well as a twitch/pull of the right side of my mouth. While I'm annoyed because I believe it is noticeable, I'm more concerned about the reason for having this problem to begin with. I should also add that I've been experiencing lightheadedness on a regular basis and intermittent nausea although not consistently. Do you think I should see a specialist? Thank you.
Answer:
Should I see a neurologist?
Hello Kathleen,
Were you seen for the vertigo and treated for this condition? If you haven't been seen by your primary physician for some time and you have these new symptoms he should be made aware and if necessary refer you to the appropriate specialist.
Good Luck and do let us know:smile:
