Flea Bites

Ask:
Flea Bites
My daughter recently visited with her father and returned home with numerous flea bites on her arms, legs and trunk. I noticed a patch a few days later on her back that looks like ringworm...it is small and does not seem to be bothering her at all. My question is this...if this is ringworm, could it have developed from the flea bites that she received? Thank you for your help!
Answer:

Flea Bites
Hi,
Ringworm is a fungus, so it is unlikely for it to develop from flea bites, but that doesn't mean she couldn't have developed it in another way. If you are suspect she has ringworm or if she isn't feeling well, you should take her to the doctor for examination. One thing that comes to mind is lyme disease, which is caused by tick bites and causes a characteristic rash. So if she starts to feel fluish, you should definetly take her in to be seen.
