Ask:
Coffee and pesticides: I'm a bit confused about these...
Coffee: There's talk going around that coffee might actually be healthier than tea. It's said to contain lots of fiber, more calcium, antioxidants, and so on, than tea, but sadly the sugar and cream neutralize all these benefits.
Pesticide: It's also been said that pesticides are so poisonous that coming into contact with something that has been exposed to the vapor is dangerous, whether i's through skin or the mouth, lke food and utensils. That's the case even if the exposure wasn't "severe" (I'm having trouble finding the right word...).
What are your verdicts on these?

Coffee and pesticides: I'm a bit confused about these...
hello benn,
Welcome to the forum.
As I sit here with my coffee;) I'm pondering that thought. Its been said that coffee does have antoxidants. The talk on coffee and tea changes every so many years such as the advice on child rearing.
The later I most interested in, as far as coffee:
The doctors will tell you not to overindulge as with anything its just not a good thing. Coffee for my family throughtout the ages is a ritual, a comfort and I will make any excuse to have a coffee. or at anyone eles prompt yeahhhhhhhhhh lets have a coffee. I only buy good quality coffee and grind my own beans and the first cup is always the best, no sugar just a hint of good cream. I don't always practice what is preached so, coffee is one indulgence that I overinduldge I guess. It really has no effect on me as far as heart rate etc like some people, often i wake up in the middle of the night and have a coffee and go right back to sleep.
Tea is good in moderation too they say, I love tea of arabic origin, and have tea in the afternoons that is when I'm not having a coffee.
Quiet seriously coffee and tea have the good sides and with moderation can be enjoyed by all. This sounds like the proper thing to say.
Pesticides are always a bad thing to be avoided by any means you can. Organic products are good to buy if you know they are really organic. I'm not sure what you meant regarding utensils etc, maybe the plastics or vapors they emit when processed. If we knew half of what we are exposed to each day, its a wonder we dont see mutations on a daily basis. lol
The best we can do is try to be healthy, make healthy choices, grow your own vegatables etc. Fact or Fiction , thinking outside of the box and having the benefit of seeing new reports changes every 10 years, I tend to go by common sense approach.
Would you like to have a coffee:w00t:

Green tea apparently has some real beneficial health effects and according to a recent study, tea is an anxiolytic, i.e. it reduces anxiety. On the other hand, coffee has been shown to increase anxiety.
I've taken up drinking more tea instead of coffee and I subjectively feel that tea suits me better, makes me less jumpy and helps to concentrate. Of course, that's just the effect on myself, not proven medicine. For a neurosurgeon too much coffee is clearly bad - I can see the effect on my hands when I'm operating under a microscope. A strong cup of coffee clearly causes some tremor (not to the extent that it would endanger the patient, but visible under magnification by microscope and unpleasant for the surgeon to see). That's why I avoid coffee before an operation.
As PurpleLady said, in moderation each can be enjoyed safely.

Coffee and pesticides -CLARIFICATION! SORRY!
When I typed pesticides I meant house insecticides. Or, in case I got that word wrong again: the chemicals you spray on bugs in the house. Are the vapors so poisonous that contact (touching, eating, latter includes food) with things exposed to them, even minimally (such as being in the same room), can be dangerous?
Again, sorry about that.
Purple98Lady: yeah, I'd love a good cup. I haven't had coffee in months. Straying away from it for a while as I've been going through pretty stressful times lately. (Oh, the pain of withdrawal...)
Dr Joshua: Looks like I've found a relaxing agent. Thanks for that.

Oh yes now I understand thank you,
Since you haven't had a good coffee in some time, one probably wouldn't hurt:tongue: but we'll go to the cafe' as to avoid the bug spray. lol
As far as the bug sprays and in the house be very careful. These sprays are very toxic and some people are very susceptible to the fumes from such. Never spray near or around food, or any surface food will be in contact with. Don't breath the fumes. Use ventilation when doing. They do have those ant traps, and different forms of traps that are treated with chemical and an alternative to spraying.
If you have health problems it may be a good idea to leave home and have a professional do this for you if this is your case. Also the dangers of thses chemicals are on the cans and a poison control phone number.
