Twitching, spasms and other obnoxious symptoms

Twitching, spasms and other obnoxious symptoms
OK, a little general info before my question, so maybe someone can help me better. I'm a 27 year old female, 5'4" and 220 pounds (gained 20 pounds in five months and am now working on bringing it down again). I am on beta blockers for high blood pressure since September 2006, spent several months of that year in chiropractic to help me with loss of curve in my neck and tailbone pain. Neck is getting better with exercise, it seems no one can help the tailbone pain, which is why I can't go to the movie theater or long car rides anymore. I have a history of depression and anxiety but after taking myself off of Paxil in 2001 I have figured out ways to keep that out of mind very successfully. Starting in October 2006 a friend died of lung cancer, my mother was diagnosed with ALS (a week later), I suddenly needed to stay home with her instead of moving to California like I'd planned (I don't mind but loss of a dream is going to be conflicting no matter what), my aunt's sister died of lung cancer, my aunt almost died of emphesema and pnuemonia at Christmas, I ended up with a huge tax bill thanks to a clerical error (we're talking huge for my income), I can't stand being in my house (I can barely move around in my bedroom and have no privacy to speak of...this will be fixed when I'm done renovating the garage) and about a dozen other smaller things have obviously piled on a bit of stress. So after having a nervous breakdown this last Saturday night I decided I should probably start paying more attention to myself which finally leads to my question. Whew.
Since around August/September, anywhere from once a day to 5-7 times a day, I've been getting this wierd twitching in my forehead. It feels like a small muscle spasm. Sometimes it's just over my eyebrow, sometimes in the temple, sometimes near the hairline, sometimes right in the middle of my forehead, and sometimes at the top in between the temple area and the middle, like where the forehead protrudes the most (such as it does). They don't happen anywhere else in my face and I only get eye twitches after working a 3-midnight shift and then a day shift and am otherwise totally exhausted. They don't hurt, but they worry me. Most of them occur maybe an inch above the eyebrow on either side of my forehead (but still in front). Is this something I should worry about? Is it a side effect of the high blood pressure meds that they didn't tell me about? Could it be in any way related to the occassional sensation of something shooting down the inside of my calf real quick that happens once and then goes away (this happens maybe once every few days)? Or is it related to the fact that even with cocyx cushions I haven't been able to sit normally in over a year?
Any help would be appreciated and I can answer questions if necessary.
Adding: I also sometimes get this twitching in the top part of my ear where it connects to my head. That can last a minute or more. Haven't had that in several weeks but thought it worth noting.

Hi xistential,
Just wanted to welcome you to the forum. I would guess(as I'm not a DR.) the twitchings could be anything from stress, lack of sleep, over consumption of caffeine or even some sort of Palsy.

I don't know if the loss of the curvature in your spine is due to obesity, or a condition you haven't mentioned. We all know that extra weight can put more stress on the spine causing all kinds of problems. Losing weight is the one most important things that could be beneficial to your health in general and esp. the spine. You mentioned the calf symptoms which may or may not be related to your back.
Have you ever gone to a neurosurgeon for examination or had an MRI of your spine. Having to use the cocyx cushions and not being able to sit straight sure would warrant one.
Nothing takes the place of being seen and examined and a good time to discuss all your medications with your physician.

Good luck to you and thank you for posting.
