c-section incision problem

Ask:
c-section incision problem
Hi, my name is Trish. I had a c-section about 7 months ago and have been having problems with the incision ever since. The first two months it was really slow to heal (the dr didnt use regular stitches on the outside, he used some kind of adheasive). Finally, about 2 months ago, it was finally healed and closed. I noticed yesterday, that one side (the left side which i have never had problems with) is starting to split open- and I havent done anything major for it to have reason to split open! This problem is very frustrating, please help!

Hi pflahe,
So sorry all this problem with an incision. Long time to pass now for your incision to be opening up again. Was curious if it was slow to heal because of other disease processes such as diabetes. Did your incision become infected and were you treated etc. for this. Is there any drainage and if you have a fever? Sometimes incisions can close and still have a small area of infection which can eventually make itself known again. Of course that depends on why it was slow to heal in the first place.
The best thing you can do is be seen by your Dr. since he knows just what your history is and just what to do for you.
Best wishes and let us know.
