Leg, Hip, Back Pain

Ask:
Leg, Hip, Back Pain
Hello,
I have osteoarthritis in my hips. For the past few months, l have been having really bad pains in my knees, shoulder, hands and legs. My Dr did some blood work to test for RA. Could you have Ra and not a irregular blood test for the RA factor? I do know my white blood count is high and also my HGB. I have been aching all over and just feel very tired all the time. I wasnt sick with a cold or anything lately at all. I do have an appointment with a Rhymotologist in 2 weeks.

hi lisa, i'm not a doctor but i can tell you from experience that you can have RA with or without the RA factor, i was diagnosed in 1995 with RA ,it affected just about every joint to a degree, and did not have RA factor present. i also had high white cell count, and was anemic. unfortunate for me there were no new injectible drugs like enbrel which really help. i had to wait a few years before i could take it, and it really made a difference.if you are diagnosed with RA, these new drugs can really help you. good luck and let us know.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply. For what I have been reading, having a high white blood count could show inflammation. Do you have to be anemic and have a high white blood count to have RA? I just dont know what to think. I go back to the dr's next Wednesday but I am trying to gather information to ask the right questions. Do you have to swell to have RA? Like stated before, my both legs, knees, right hand, shoulder, my neck going across my back, sometimes my the top of my feet hurt....are these signs of RA? I just dont want to seem like I am just complaining about everything but the pain is there. Any advice would help!!
