Ask:
endometriosis pain! What to do?
 Dr J or anyone who can help,
I am 36. I had a hysterectomy about 5 yrs ago, unrelated to the endo at that time. 2 yrs ago I started to have awful pain on my right side. My gyno did a laproscopic to determin the cause of pain, it was my ovary. It had embedded itself to my tissue wall. They removed it and the pain came back about 4 months later, only on my left side. I decided to seek a pro in the endo department because they talked about it being the cause of my pain, but no concrete evidence according to them. He confirmed my thoughts and did a lap again to remove the endo that had grown. 4 months later I was in great pain again and needed to go in to remove the last ovary. I'm 4 months post op and having pain again! I'm in menopause and don't know what to do about the pain I'm having. What more is there to do about this relentless pain of endo? My dr wants to wait another 3 weeks before he will see me, to see if it could be bowel related. Constipation is another issue I've dealt with. I know its the endo though. The pain tells me all I need to know, what more can they do to help with the pain? I have three young girls and an active life, this is really slowing me down! My dr said it must be microscopic endo. But wouldn't it have been all along? what can we do about this?
Thank You!

Hi mommyof3,
Sounds like you have really been through alot. Since you have had a hysterectomy and both ovaries removed I just don't know. I have read the endometriosus improves with menopause. For your sake I hope it does. Must really be painful. Is your Dr. addressing your pain with stronger pain medications atleast until you see him again. Wish I could help you, atleast get something for the pain and ask the Dr. what other options there are. Do you have to keep having surgery to remove the growth of tissue or what?
Good Luck,

I really don't know what will be the next step. I hope surgery is not the only option. I am not taking pain meds at this time and have not requested any just because they add to the constipation. I just take tylenol and deal with the pain as best I can. I have good days and bad days. I was hoping to get some answers here. Thank you for your concern, and for replying.
